playing for LVR and JAGS respectively tonight. Johnson made a big time catch and LVR up 13-0 in second quarter. Stoner is there but not playing tonight.

Great night for both guys, fun to watch!

I forget who it was, but somebody on here blathered on and on about what a mistake Johnson was making by leaving school.

Yes. That was the consensus by a lot of people. He went undrafted and has been basically a practice squad guy. A preseason game 3 years later doesn't mean he made the right decision to leave a year early.

It absolutely does. He got paid playing in the NFL that year and obviously he has been a fringe player even with NFL coaching and practices so coming back to OSU for one more year would not have made him anything more than what he is now.

Probably would have made more at this point if he'd played another year and got drafted instead of playing for league minimum. Could be wrong though.

The only argument was that he would have been WR1 if he'd stayed another year, and that would have given him more exposure and probably gotten him drafted. Seems now that he has established himself, it is moot, and the extra year of salary in the NFL would probably have outweighed the potential better contract he might have received if he'd stayed.

Antwine wasn’t drafted but he is getting paid by JAGS at same rate of draft pick and is already considered to be retained by the team. How in the world did he not get drafted? JAGS got a steal with signing Antwine! Was Johnson considered a Pandemic casualty and Wallace came back so he would not have started due to Wallace and Stoner starting?

Johnson left and was drafted pre covid. I'm guessing he didn't think he'd get enough time with Wallace staying around and us still having Stoner.
