I was able to catch part of the game in the 3rd when we were down 17 but noticed gotlieb was coaching. Anyone have insight to the change? And just checked the bracket and saw we came back and won by a point!

Forte has changed jobs, I think, three times this summer, from Sam Houston State, to UTRGV (briefly), to St. Louis (taking Ford Stuen's job). I don't know if that's the exact reason but I assume he needs some time to settle in.

I wasn't aware of the different scoring system to end the games until yesterday.

Elam Ending
In 2017, the tournament's play-in games utilized "Elam Ending" rules, devised by Ball State University professor Nick Elam. Pursuant to the Elam Ending, the game clock is turned off at the first whistle with up to four minutes remaining. The teams then play to a target score, with the shot clock still enforced. As the first team to meet or exceed the target score wins, there are no overtime games. Since the 2018 edition, the Elam Ending has been used in all games. Originally, the target score was seven points more than team leading or tie score; since 2019, the target score is eight points more than the leading team's/tied score. The winning score can be a walk-off field goal, three-point shot, or free throw.

Watching them get pounded tonight reminded of how they weren't very good while they were here, sans Brown and junior/senior Carroll. Gottlieb had an uphill climb with this group.

They need to add Jawun Evans, Michael Cobbins, LeBryan Nash and Leyton Hammonds to be competitive. LB was a beast last year. This team overachieved by winning a game.
Evans and Nash would be huge help. Evans would be close to as good as guard you see in TBT. They need some help.
