We have to spend more time moderating thread on the political forum. This forum is becoming to toxic and that the casual racism, misogyny, sexism and hate are starting to seep into other areas of the board; first and foremost we are a sports board. If a thread has been deleted don’t start it again or it will be a ban. There may be other changes as we move OP back to a a more family friendly and civil direction.

Hi everyone, we wanted to update you on how the clean up is going. 10 members have been banned for content that is problematic or posted to cause problems, blatant stuff. Where are now is posts that push up to edge or whose only purpose seems to play gotcha or one-upsmen-ship. This needs to stop also and the best way to do is for the posters to stop posting it or think about why and why you are posting.

We would like this place to stop being a problem and eyesore. It can keep getting better or leave, which has happened in other sports boards, which is what OP is.

There are some current threads that are on close to being gone, your content will decide if they stay or go.

To clarify a few points.
You are responsible for what you post, that means if you quote another poster or what you share via Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. If it violates TOS your post does and it will go. This is not censorship but an attempt to keep this place civil, decent and a family sports message board. Just because it is on the internet does not mean it belongs here.

Hello again,
As we get closer to the election things are heading in the wrong direction. Please no person attacks/call in h put other posters/picking fights.
Disagree but do it in a civil fashion.

Please don’t post any link to Parler or post content from it. As for this wondering in the last we have banned posts from social media and news sources, including members of the media as needed.

It is not the only one, at one time we have banned multiple blogs, social media sites and there are three members of the media currently on then permanent banned list: As was said by the guy who started OP “just because it is out there does not mean it belongs here”.

Concerning Paler:

Once a poster started posting content and links from there, which involved inflammatory and unconfirmed information we had a discussion and decided that we didn’t want it on OP.
We are very cognizant that some might call it censorship but it follows decisions that have been made in the by last few months about content and why why several threads, Twitter and the picture thread as an example, have been removed and won’t come back. They are inflammatory, divisive and unconfirmed. That lead to issue spreading across the board as a whole. First and foremost this is a OSU sports board and if something genders that it needs to go away.
