Just a testament to how good the pitching was this weekend. 1-5 hitters went 7-42 (.1667 avg) in the three games, only drew 3 walks, and struck out 9 times. The 1-5 hitters also committed 5 of the 8 errors. Razor thin margins at this level. Eberle throwing error, a botched squeeze play, and 1 bad inning by Maxwell and the Cowgirls are headed back to Stillwater early.

We've got a future we are building on. Let's keep that going and always expect the highest amongst these girls. This stings but we are cementing our ground as a premier college softball school

Hitting has always been hit or miss with this team all season. Our hitting never could get on par with the pitching as well as the defense. When this team makes error, they tend to make them in bunches. Eberle's error isn't all that surprising, she's struggled to field her position all year.

It was a really good year. Getting over the hump into semi-finals then championship series isn't easy and we just missing a few pieces...A top 3-5 recruiting class coming as well a couple of transfers that should be announced in the coming days/week and this team has a good shot of returning to OKC.

For sure. We didn't have the most talented team overall, but man we had it set up perfectly for us after day 1. That said, getting to OKC is no small feat and doing it back to back is big time. Not only that, but winning a game each time. Still a major step forward for the program.

What is the outlook for Mattison Boyd? She had some good numbers, except for the walks, in her early season appearances.

Unless things has change....they have high hopes for Mattie Boyd. It was hard to get some in game reps when pitchers like Eberle, Maxwell and Simunek was in front of her.

Imo the inconsistency with our hitters also forced Coach G to go with the most experienced pitchers instead of giving our youth PT.

It’s easy being the last 4 teams standing, then proceeding to winning the entire thing. I mean we’re in a good place, and honestly we’re a little ahead of schedule. The good thing is this years appearance we weren’t out-classed from a talent standpoint compared to 2019. As the talent keeps on getting better we’re eventually break through

She has high upside and a chance to be really good. They just finished exit interviews with coach G. Hopefully she continues to work on her craft and takes the next step in the fall. We have a ton of young pitchers on staff except Maxwell and they’ll have plenty of chances to showcase themselves. Not to mention we’re bringing in two incoming freshman pitchers. With all those arms, it’s possible a couple of them transfer.
