OSU heads to Arlington for a bigger than usual week at the Big XII Tournament, needing to have some success to secure a regional host.

It's #9 OSU versus #19 Texas in game one at 9AM Wednesday. The Pokes of course swept the Horns in Austin, but a lot has changed since then.

Then, it's either TCU or Baylor on Thursday at 9AM (if we lose) or 4 (if we win).

Josh has done very well in the Big XII tournament, with OSU making the finals 5 of the last 7 years and winning it twice.
OSU is #18 in the RPI, just behind Notre Dame and North Carolina. The Cowboys are 18-8 away from Stillwater this season, 2-3 at neutral sites, but 2-2 at Globe Life Field (3 games we considered road games at BYU).

I'll update the thread tomorrow when we know more about who will start, etc.

Anyone going to 9 am game tomorrow? Speculation is there may only be a 1000 fans in a 30000 seat stadium with OSU a retractable roof stadium

Go 2 and out, you don't host, and don't deserve to at all. Go 1-2 and you're leaving it in the hands of the committee along with what other hosting bubble teams do (I would doubt we host). Go 2-2 and you're probably hosting, but it's not a lock. Get to the tournament championship game and you're definitely hosting. Win the tournament and you should at least be back in the national seed discussion.

So they just posted the game notes for the Big 12 tournament on Okstate.com and Osmond is not listed as a probable start that is not a good sign for his arm fatigue problem. Anyone on here have any insight?

OSU lists Mederos for Wednesday, Campbell for Thursday. No mention of Osmond, yet.

Texas leads the league in both batting average (.322) and ERA (4.15) and is 4th nationally with 110 home runs. Melendez was named the Big 12 POY after hitting .421 with 28 HR and 85 RBI. He is currently on a 21 game hitting streak and UT has won 5 in a row as a team.

UT lists LHP Pete Hansen (9-1, 3.28) as their starter. Last time against OSU he went 7 innings for a no decision, but gave up 9 hits and 6 runs. He walked none and K'd 6. This was one of those games where Cowboy bats started slow but really found their groove from the middle innings on.

UT saw Mederos for 1 inning, and he balked in a run and gave a hit.

The Osmond deal is becoming a little bit of a concern.

Uh… when we swept UT in Austin… Longhorn fans were politely smiling saying we will get you in the Big 12 tournament and just look… we have to play them at 9:00 am! It’s the Bevo curse!

That right there is the epitome of how whacky this college baseball season has been. Lead your conference in both ERA and batting average along with hands down the best player in the league and you don’t even finish in the top half of the conference. That’s insane.
