I totally disagree on that point at least for this game. This game was lost by undisciplined hitters that watch perfect strikes go right down the middle of the plate with the bat on their shoulder and then flail away wildly at horrible pitches that would’ve given them a walk had they just laid off. They did it over and over and over the entire game and for that matter most of this season.
We had to play from behind the entire game. It completely changes pressures on hitters and allows a very good pitcher to front run and pitch with a 4-run lead. We had to go into scramble mode at the plate, never a good thing. That series of pitches completely changed the game and put a major advantage squarely in favor of Texass. Their pitcher could give up a hit and have no real pressure. Erase those two runs and it’s a different story. Take away those three pitches and we likely win 3-2. That is squarely on Walton.

Campbell walks a guy but gets a strike out and 2 fly outs for a scoreless top half of the first. 21 pitches. Threw a bunch of balls that were strikes but the ump isn’t giving the outside corner. Wonder if that goes both ways.

Tom says this is the same ump that was behind the plate in the WVU series with the very tight, but consistent zone.

Horrible base coaching hangs Cabbi out to dry by a mile. Sometimes you have to wonder what Lees is watching.
