Amazon announces Ring Always Home Drone.

It is an indoor drone with a Ring Camera that flies a predetermined path around your home checking for fires, recording any alarms, and providing live feed into the home for the user as it flies around.

It is designed to be used in a home when no one is there to allow you a live look and launch your indoor Ring drone and check up on all the rooms you have set it up to fly into.

This thing will be no match for house cats.

This thread is 4 years old......this is the progress Boston Dynamics has made so far

How much of this is programmed movements vs adaptability?
All programmed is my understanding. Here's some outtakes where they didn't have it quite right.

Still pretty cool ...and scary. I could swear in one of the falls it looks like it tried to reach out to catch itself.

I think you're talking about where it doesn't clear the balance beam. One arm catches on the beam and then it twists a little and the other arm moves in front. If say it probably just looked like it, because if it had some programming to put out it's hands when falling, it would have done it every time. And it's obvious that didn't happen.

they do have an entire program for balancing that moves servos and rotors based on trying to stay in balance as the arms and legs move. They WILL put out their arms and legs to balance themselves and move them around as needed to prevent falls, to stand back up after falling and to correct balance issues
