Also - assuming all of you have seen the communications from OSU about setting up it's own collective? I'll join up for the cost of a pizza every month. But what happens if said collective doesn't live up to the commitments it's made to players, or better yet, what if said player is full of crap and causing issues when all commitments were met? What happens if you're Spencer Rattler with very high end vehicles provided only to be on the bench half way through the season, does the compensating party not have a right to move it's resources elsewhere? I think that points to the guy's notion of "lack of representation" for these guys signing NIL deals. Which is a way for 'agents' to make more money on the backs of the players they say aren't being paid.

Hadn't thought about that before.

Can you tell we're in the final stages of the doldrums yet?

well, you shouldn't sign on the dotted line with a school for a transfer (or initial LOI) w/o also having a signature of the collective that will pay your NIL. . . . if you're in it for the money.

Pretty sure it's not off the ground yet but at least it's something. With Tech's $25K per player, UT and A$M at $50K per lineman, tampering everywhere, we all know we can't sit back and hope for the best.

Heck the fastest way to get the NCAA to say this is not good is for us to do it. They'd shut it down real quick then. After giving our program the death penalty first of course.

I signed up for the notices to stay up to date when it goes live. Figure 50K usual fans on a home game, $10-$20/month donation, could rack up a nice little fund of 5-10mil+ strictly for the "student" athletes.

Well, if booster only paid players on the roster then coaches should be fine. But if boosters are out recruiting with NIL $$ then tell the coach “ here you go” then I can see how the coaches would not like it.

but in reality, of course the coaches tell the boosters who to go after

Read an article the other day where some kids aren't getting the money they were promised before transferring/signing. I guess the non-regulation goes both ways. NCAA can't hold the school accountable for something like that if "coaches/admin have nothing to do with it"

Would think if there is any form of communication confirming the details of the compensation then they could technically take them to court for it. Not sure the optics for the player on that one though.

I think this is why agents are charging high percentages for securing these big NILs. The honor system and handshake agreements are probably just that.

I'm in. Have inquired of them about business sponsorships as well. The fact that there is a $1mil match out there makes me hopeful this can take off.

Another big 12 champ run would be huge for this to take off. Get everyone bought in and prove that we have a legit chance to take over this conference. I’m hopeful on this moving forward.

Pretty dangerous stuff. Like right after bedlam this year, a lot of people waking up the next day with the biggest hangover of their lives saying “I gave how much?”

I can assure you, that’s not me. I might get squirrely and splurge after beating ou’s ass but I know exactly how much it was. :D
