Transfer Portal

Curious if he going to use the portal to bring in a big bat or a complimentary pitcher to go with Maxwell or both. We will find out more within the next couple of weeks.

thanks for the update. I thought Sprang eligibility ran out and had not hear about Lohman medically retired. Hate to hear that. Wish Lohman the best in her future

Suffered a severe wrist injury and struggled to make a comeback!! She was introduced on senior day!! Highly intelligent young lady as she came in here as a college sophmore academically!!!

Both Carrie Eberle and Kelly Maxwell have been invited to pitch against Team USA in order to prepare them for Tokyo next month. It's a wonderful opportunity for these young ladies, and both seemed to have held their own.

One down, one to go....graduate transfer RHP from Illinois State. She was 1st team all-conference, and made all region teams. Brings in experience to complement all the young arms we have!!! She was 1 of 2 official visitors this past weekend. The other transfer is visiting a Pac-12 school as we speak.

strikeouts per 7 innings and 8th nationally in strikeouts to walks ratio. Hopefully, she can transition those numbers from the Missouri Valley to the Big 12.

Yeah it seems she had a breakout senior year...You always have to worry how someone who dominated at the mid-major will fair against P5 level competition. Reagan Wright is a perfect example as someone who struggled quite a bit at the plate even though she had a moments of success. The good thing is she's not expected to be the ace of the staff as that honor belongs to Maxwell. At best she's a solid #2, and possibly #3 depending on how quickly the freshman Tatum Cloptom adjusts to the collegiate level.

I am little concern about players jumping from mid-majors to join us. @OSU9953 described it perfectly with Reagan Wright moving up from UT-Arlington. Good thing I have confident in Coach John working with the pitchers.

Im curious who the other player that visited? Does not hurt if we get another big bat to come in and produce some runs

@PerryPoke77 everyone was granted an extra yr of eligibility. Pennington, Alexander and Busby has one more yr. They have a choice to play next year or forgo.

Naomi is not even a Sr. She is a Jr. but playing as a Soph. with that extra yr granted.

Both macee Barnes and maci cunconan have entered the transfer portal. And just yesterday gabby Sprang put her name in the portal. There’s a chance 1-2 more end up leaving the team. They’re looking for playing time, which is understandable. I wish them all the best.

I'm hoping more of a good #2 with the hope that some different coaching and better team around her helps. In the two games against ranked opponents last year she did pretty good--Gave up 3 earned runs to both UK and Tenn.

I think we all would…but I’m also being realistic. Bargfeldt could help her possibly reach another level. She’s not Eberle and not on that level. Maxwell will be the ace…Nothing wrong being a #2. You need multiple arms to win the whole thing.

Still need to see her go up against high end competition consistently and see how she adjust. Kentucky and Tennessee are quality opponents, but but she gave up 18 hits between the two games so that indicates they were seeing the ball well against her. Still it’s a really good get considering the lack of experience outside of Maxwell.

With those leaving and possible more...you think Coach G might look at other young ladies outside of Morgan Day and the other player?

And here's the final one.......had to fend off Washington to land her. FSU wanted her as well, but didn't take a visit. The most coveted bat in the portal IMO....She'll be a senior, but has the COVID year so she could play two years at OSU.
