Look, it's leadership because he's a good speaker and is being quite plain with the change and what's expected...I agree they have been far more locked down than us (expect in NYC and California) at different points in time...AND I thank God everyday that I live in Oklahoma USA where we haven't been so silly as to lock ourselves in our homes for days on end and that we don't have a top heavy federal system like they do. However, I applaud this MOSTLY because I'm biased to travel and one of the main travel hubs in the world is London...IF Heathrow and the travel industry can't get it's act together in terms of travel we may never get back to pre pandemic openness worldwide or even close to it. That restricts me, and EVERYONE in the world who wishes to be travelers... What I would LOVE to see NOW or very very soon is the world (or at LEAST the USA) rid itself of stupid testing to return to your home country garbage that we have had in place ever since Biden took office. That rule is killing economies, especially in the third world and making us unsafe as a result, and, IMHO has very little to do with spread these days. NOW that we have vaccines, boosters, and therapeutics it's time to end these restrictions worldwide as soon as Omicron ends...Once again, I believe we each need to do our part...get our shots...take our vitamins...treat our symptoms and the virus early in order to avoid hospital...THEN get the freak back to normal as a result ASAP...I'm Just applauding a country who is doing just that...
Best line..."We will Trust the judgement of the British People, and no longer criminalize anyone who chooses not to wear one." This statement is NOT anti mask, it's Pro "the British people." I think this is a positive change for them...Here's to the HOPE that we all should have in the future of travel and sanity in our world due to these starting changes. It doesn't mean this is over, it just means that people are changing our responses in light of new data and commerce. It's particularly refreshing to me because of my desire to travel and having a trip scheduled to Heathrow hub and through it to Africa a day later in August.
