So if we wanted to implement crazy harsh lockdowns like the UK did in Dec that they are now lifting....It would be OK as long as Biden spoken clearly and set out expectations of the lockdown?
Cause was it good leadership when Boris did it a month ago? Or was it good leadership because he decided to reverse his own decision today? Were they both good leadership?
If that is good leadership would we support that type of leadership in the USA as long as it is delivered in the same way Boris did it?
Ohh FYI Police officer were hurt in London on Dec 18th by Anti Vaxx protestors in front of Parliament when Boris so bravely led them into Plan B Socialist Lockdown.

Q1. NOPE...thank God we don't have a top down Federal system although that seems to be what a lot of people on both extremes of Covid policy want.
Q2, Q3, and Q4. YEP...Rolling with the punches is good leadership most of the time. Even if policies conflict but change based on timing and data.
Q4. Sometimes...BUT NOPE...We aren't a top down Federalist society Thank God...
On your comment at the end...What else is new in the world today??? Bottom line, he's moving away from those policies now and it's right to praise that as good leadership. Additionally who in the h*ll would want to be in Leadership right now???Not me!
My point remains that it's a nice change to see and it may indicate that things are going to get better. I feel it's good leadership because he's moving toward a more open society now that Covid "seems to have peaked in the UK." It's also Good NEWS for all of us IF he's right. So I see it as Good leadership because I'm biased to open freedom loving society...and TODAYS move was a move toward that.
I would praise Biden to the rooftops if he would rid American Citizens of the burden of testing to return to our home country...that would open up the travel industry again and create a great deal of excitement all over the world. But I highly doubt he will do that...UNTIL he's forced to do it...AND I will STILL praise it as good leadership.

Dear goodness. A lady who serves in a local organization I am part of just tested positive for the 3rd time!
She had it in Jan 2020, Again in Sept 2021, and Now again as of last night. She thought after having it 2 times and having the vax (no booster) she would be ok so they went on a family vacation to Universal down in Florida and she came back and started feeling unwell.

On this substitute teacher stuff, my wife is out and her classes are being covered by subs or being sent to the library. She is still preparing all of their online schoolwork, videos of her instruction, and is available during school hours to help with any issues, and she is having to use sick time. So while it isn't as good as if she was in the room with them, there are a lot of teachers out there who are doing their best to keep the kids from being negatively affected.

As much as people like to talk crap about teachers, this seems to be more the rule than the exception. I am incredibly grateful for the similar efforts that my kids' teachers are putting forth right now. I hope the parents of your wife's students feel the same and walk away with a better appreciation of how hard teachers do work and how much they care.

I know teachers are doing everything they can. I know many of them and I pray for them every night. I know it is hard on them at this time and I am NOT a fan of the message they are being sent by the political leaders in this state of how easy they are to replace.
If anyone has ever seen or read "Ready Player One"? My bet in 15-20 years time (partially due to COVID) our kids will attend school via virtual space they actually take part in via avatars and VR equipment. Allows them to interact with each other socially as a digital person they control, and allows for teachers, subs, etc to be plugged into a classroom anywhere in the world at a moments notice. Just think. Famous people, historical places and figures, There is an entire interactive learning environment that can take place there AND enhance the learning experience by allowing you to see, explore and feel the actual subject you are talking about.
Imagine as a student getting up and putting on a VR headset and then you and your class going to catch a session of Congress while its ongoing by observing it first hand from the gallery, and then traveling back to ancient Rome and going of a tour of the coliseum and then after lunch maybe explore an active volcano from the rim or from inside of the volcano.

I don't think the message is that they are easily replaced, I think it is that we are in a really tight spot, and no one wants to have to go into virtual school (at least no one that I know) so the only way to keep schools open is to find more subs. From what I have seen the teaching is still being done by the teachers, they just need someone to babysit them while they do their work so their parents can go to work.
