Being at the McKnight Center was sure rare and great last weekend. Saw Tim McGraw on Friday night and super violinist Iitzhak Perlman Sat. night. McGraw was a sell out and had people standing on their feet for about an hour and a half. Someone from Norman on social media said he was behind enemy lines in Stillwater to see Tim McGraw. McGraw told the audience that he was impressed with the McKnight Center and hopes to be back. Favorable impressions like that are what it takes to keep drawing big acts.
Thanks to OSU's new state of the art McKnight Center For the Performing Arts, Stillwater can now compete with Oklahoma City, Tulsa, as well as the theaters in the biggest casinos and everywhere else in Oklahoma in attracting world class acts. Please support what's going on at the McKnight Center whenever you can.
Capacity is 1100. Finally, OSU has an auditorium bigger than the one at Stillwater High School. I don't know what you mean by "good" seats but many seats were closer to the performer than seats in a big city arena. Acoustics were fine and not too ear splitting loud.
Hopefully, McKnight Center will have other big music stars before they get too old. For starters, Chicago or Doobie Brothers would be nice. George Strait, too. There's so many.
Right, I had the chicken Fajita Chimichanga meal there the other evening. It was very good. It had more to it than the Chimichangas at Mexico Joe's and Palomino's, both which are about the same. Unlike Mexico Joe's, Mariachi's is my idea of a real Mexican restaurant from it having Mexican music playing, unlike classical rock, with many workers being Mexican. Hardly any of them had masks on. At Mexico Joe's they all do.
