Will not, but moves like this should all but eliminate the lame argument that they cannot have a legitimate playoff format because the games will go too deep into the following semester.

Heard the SEC commish on an interview yesterday & he was asked about expanding to 8 teams this year. He said the primary concern was whether they could actually get the games played. I sorta get that concern, but it's only 2 more games & one more week.

I don't understand why you couldn't set up 2 4 team bubbles at 2 different locations. 4 games one weekend, 2 the next, then a championship game.

For those that don't remember Pete Thamel, he co-authored the SI hit piece on the Pokes. He absolutely killed Gundy over his June 1st return to play idea. And, he's basically been the wet blanket for 5 months now on college football happening. He's been pretty quiet as games have gone on, but now he's back at it.
He's the portrait of a sports media member who's been in the game so long that you wonder if he even enjoys sports anymore, given that almost the entirety of his work for years now is always coming from a negative place.
