I am curious, if Techs radio announcers are suspended do they have to get replacements, no radio or do they just use Dave and John’s braodcast on the Tech network?

I'm only just reading about this on ESPN and I didn't watch the game between Iowa State and Texas Tech.

Was the officiating exceptionally terrible?

These predictions are pretty crap.

I would be surprised if we didn’t win 55-13. The offense is good - legit good - and of course our defense is lights out.

Suppose they could play poorly. But it’s like the reverse of 2011. Everyone expects eventually the defense will stop playing lights out but… It never comes.

More Big 12 level terrible. If they said one thing and stopped it would probably have been ignored but they really did go to far and for to long.

I don't see the defense giving up 24 points. Iowa State's defense is a MASH unit right now. Their best player and reigning Big 12 defensive POY, Mike Rose, is clearly nowhere near 100%. Of course Tech was going to move the ball a little on them.

So the announcers griped on the radio about the refs and really got suspended for it?

It seemed like a good idea at the time

The announcers work for the university, and as such are subject to the same NCAA and conference rules. Including telling fans to not throw trash on the court no matter how bad the officiating is (during a timeout)

It was a little more than that. They did not just say that seemed to be a bad call and move on. https://twitter.com/bubbaprog/status/1461153773150158850?s=21

Sounds exactly like what I would expect from Tech announcers. Fit perfectly with the rest of Tech.

Didn't they actually name the refs? I thought I read where that was what put them over the line.

Ok. Yeah. They went over the top easily. I'd say the moment that he specifically started reading off their names on the radio it was it. He had already cussed, and said the ref must have a concussion.

They sounded like whiny little bitches. In other words, they sounded like your typical Tech fan. If they were doing our game I’m sure they would throw in a few “Xerox U” jabs.

I dropped by the message board just to see their thoughts on the upcoming game and, of course, there was some Xerox U stuff but mostly non stop whining about the officials. Usually fans wait until the game at least starts before they start blaming the ref.
