Why would the ATF just be knocking on a citizen’s door with no warrant? Especially without any uniform or ID indicating they are a Federal agent? Is this a common occurrence?

Good question that I'd like an answer to as well. If someone just shows up like that with no warrant and dressed in civilian clothing, they can take up their requests with the local PD.

Last week there was a little story about the ATF going into gun shops and taking pictures of clients info. Not sure to the validity of the story. But it was tied to another story about the ATF going to a persons home and asking to see the latest purchase when there were multiple purchases in a short time. They wanted to verify it wasn’t a straw purchase.

I’ve also come across stories saying that people are coming out to homes pretending to be ATF and then robbing you. So it makes for a convoluted cluster F..k. No matter how it looks.

The correct way is the ATF and local police are supposed to work together. So I’m told. But I’m all for using government to fight government. The above video is kinda silly watching the power struggle play out. Who knows? Maybe the war of the future is postal service vs FDA.

Loved hearing the ATF sissy cry like a school girl when treated like he would likely treat a civilian. He was likely a low level rank and file agent to be sent on such a garbage call. Whoever sent him needs a reprimand and quick education on the Constitution.

That video is a couple years old I think. It is an official check in but he didn’t follow protocol and have police with him. Or maybe that protocol came about because of this.
