A lot of us dislike Trump, but most people are sensible enough to understand there was NOT Trump/Russia collusion. Yet after years of investigations, an aggressive media, and politicians lying --- there are some people that refuse to stop believing the story. Shoot, we have people on this board...which I assume are well educated ...that still cling to the false claim.

I get Trump hatred. But making up stories doesn't help their cause. The result are people that don't support Trump realize that some people are more anti-Trump than sane.

If you think the $3.5 T spending bill is going to effect the rich you better wake up. The politicians aren't going to do anything that will effect the super wealthy that fill their campaign coffers. The weight of the spending bill will be entirely upon the working middle class while offering "freebies" to those who choose not to work. It's putting in place a socialist government restricting your rights and freedoms.

I wonder how much of this proposal is just a stalking horse to get the change they really want. There is one that lowers the amount required for a 1099 form to be issued to $600. It seems like this would catch most of the same income the bank reporting would, but be way less onerous. I haven't seen anything about the 1099 change, but no one wants the banking change.

Do you remember the creation of something called the National Security Division at the Department of Justice. It was created back in 2005 when they re-upped the Patriot Act. The point of the National Security Division, we were told at the time, was to conduct "counterterrorism and counterespionage" operations against foreign adversaries.

Enter China Joe Biden.

Then Joe Biden became president in January, and the entire mission of the United States government changed and turned inward, against you. A few days ago, the Department of Justice, under the radical Attorney General Merrick Garland, announced that the National Security Division has a new domestic mission. According to Garland, effective immediately, the National Security Division is handling the investigation of "harassment, intimidation and threats of violence against school board members, teachers and workers in our nation’s public schools."

It seems now under the Biden Administration if you speak out and disagree with the political position of your local your school board you might be considered a domestic terrorist your US government.

And you thought it was Donald Trump.

From the memo: While spirited debate about policy matters is protected under our Constitution, that protection does not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views.

You're pretending one thing that is okay is exactly the same as a different thing that is not okay.

Trump sues to try to stop the release of documents related to the Capitol riot NPR

Former President Donald Trump is suing the Democratic-led House select committee that's investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, as well as the National Archives, to try to stop documents related to the riot from being turned over to the panel.

Trump had urged former officials in his administration not to comply with subpoenas from the House panel, citing executive privilege. However, that power applies to only the current sitting president, not former ones.

The former president's lawsuit came a day before the committee is set to vote on a criminal contempt report for former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who failed to show for a requested deposition on Thursday.
Turning to the courts was a maneuver used by Trump throughout his presidency to keep potentially embarrassing documents, such as his tax returns, out of the public eye.

For four years the issues on the border were being cleaned up, facilities were being closed. No longer.

Social media firms were under pressure throughout Mr Trump's presidency to ban him, with his posts criticised as insulting, inflammatory or peddling outright falsehoods.
Last year Twitter and Facebook began deleting some of his posts or labelling them as misleading, such as one in which he said Covid was "less lethal" than the flu.
They took the decision to ban or suspend Mr Trump after the January riots, which followed a speech in which he made baseless claims of electoral fraud.
Responding to the riots, Mr Trump called those at the Capitol "patriots" and showed no sign of accepting the result of the election, prompting Twitter and Facebook to rule that it was too risky to allow him to continue to use their sites.

Earlier this year, he launched From the Desk of Donald J Trump, which was often referred to as a blog.
The website was permanently shut down less than a month after it launched after attracting only a fraction of the audience he would have expected through established sites.

An early version of his latest venture, TRUTH Social, will be open to invited guests next month, and will have a "nationwide rollout" within the first three months of 2022, according to a statement by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).

By its very nature the platform is overtly politicised. It is not going to be a talking shop of ideas like Twitter, or a place the whole family is on like Facebook.

What it could be is a more successful version of other 'free speech' social media platforms like Parler or Gab.
Donald Trump clearly wants his megaphone back. He thinks this might be his ticket. But if he's really going to be heard, he needs the Big Tech platforms to let him back on - and that's not going to happen anytime soon.
