The United States Of America has to do something to slow this kind of tragedy. Lord we all know it’s out of control right now.

If I thought they'd be productive disfussions, yeah. We've been down this road before and nothing changes. That just compounds the current tragedy of loss of life, including little ones just enjoying their last days of school and looking forward to summer.

I can’t wrap my head around this. So utterly senseless and devastating. I can’t imagine the pain this is inflicting on the families and their community.

Odd thing for a non profit to do. Especially since almost nothing about the shooter has been revealed but his name

Considering it has already been reported that he was also a student at a Uvalde school I doubt he was a recent illegal border crosser.

Yes it is. Not just odd, but disgusting. The worst is the tragedy of loss of innocent life. Unfortunately, people quickly add to the pain by attempting to leverage tragedies for political gain.

The fact that I am completely numb to this now scares me the most. Same stuff, different day.

Of course we will avoid a rationale discussion that might move the needle back in the right direction.

I can see the discussion. "We should try this." "That won't prevent this 100% of the time." "It might help." "FU." "No, FU." "Lets give up."

Uvalde, Texas will have a large supply of 'thoughts and prayers: America's solutions to difficult problems.'

Not only is it disgusting but also could potentially harm their own income to a very worthy cause of helping vets. Wow just complete disregard for the tragic event and those they claim to serve

I can't even think straight knowing what transpired here.

Hug your little ones extra tight tonight. I know I will.

People should wait at least 48 hours before making hot takes.

I can't imagine driving to my kids school and finding out they were gunned down. I just couldn't take it.

I fully agree. Knowing the demographics of that area (80%+ Latino), I worried there was another El Paso shooter. That's not helpful to share at this point. I'm permanently scarred from the Charleston church shooting and being close when it happened. Still, this is it's own tragedy. Details will come and right now it's just heartbreaking.

What always strikes me in these mass shooting events is the complete waste of common ground. I can't think of another issue where the most disparate people on either side of the spectrum have so much to agree on. I can virtually guarantee that the most ardent gun control advocate and the most fervent 2nd amendment defender and everyone in between all would like to see these mass shootings eliminated.

Man talk about someone not understanding statistics. I mean how many more school children are there in the country compared to law enforcement. More dangerous only works when using the total number for each. It’s guys like these that are just trying to get clicks with bs, instead of trying to find real ways to fix things that bug me.
