Another in-state tournament this weekend for the Vision. The girls will be in OKC Saturday-Monday, so if you're around watching the WCWS, you should swing by and catch a Vision game too!

Extra Innings released their 14U rankings last week, and the girls came in at #50! Looking at the list, you see some of the big name organizations that places like OU pull from regularly, so it is an incredible honor to have them on the same list as some of those programs.

Here is the pool game schedule for the weekend!

Also, a GREAT solo shot from Londyn at the Top Gun Heritage tournament in Bixby.

The team had a rough start losing 2 back to back, but fought their way back to the finals coming in second to a VERY talented Epic National team.

So, that is two tournaments for the Vision, two finals appearances and one championship.

How did she and her team do?
Unfortunately, the team couldn't ever get in a groove...kind of like the OSU team last night.

Londyn had a good weekend though. She spent time at 3rd and 2nd (first time for significant time there) and did well.
Offensively:
AVG: .462, OBP: .500, OPS: 1.423, SLG: .923, PA: 14, AB: 13, H: 6, 1B: 4, HR: 2, BB: 1, RBI: 4
Defensively:
FPCT: .889, E: 1

Clips of her two home runs:

Londyn and The Vision did well at the Team 1 Elite Invite in Kansas City this weekend. Coming in second of the Tier 2 Bracket.

Londyn spent the majority of her defensive time at 2nd base, where she really showed off her range and speed. Her coach sees a great deal of potential for her at 2nd, so be looking for her to spend more time there. She also got to spend some time at 1st and SS.

Offensively, she made some great adjustments with her hands and it really showed.

Her homerun was easily the most powerful hit of her career. 230' fence, and enough juice that it would have been out of a 250' park.

Londyn and the rest of the Vision Gold 2026 are back in action this weekend at the Perfect Game Elite State. It's a smaller tournament, but looking to clean some stuff up before they head to nationals in a couple of weeks.

Cleaned up this weekend in KC.

The Vision went 5-1 (undefeated in bracket play) and came away tournament champions. Outscoring bracket opponents 25-5.

Londyn had an especially good showing. She spent time defensively at 1st, 2nd and 3rd; and did well at each position.
Offensively:
AVG: .538, OBP: .625, OPS: 1.856, SLG: 1.231, PA: 16, AB: 13, H: 7, 1B: 3, 2B: 1, 3B: 1, HR: 2, BB: 2, RBI: 8
Defensively:
FPCT: .857, E: 1

She also hit her 10th and 11th career home runs on back to back ABs, the second being her first GRAND SLAM. And walked away as tournament MVP.

Probably not very many posts left this summer as Londyn and the Vision plays in their last summer tournament next week. The World Fastpitch Championships (Shawnee, KS again).

She also got a nice writeup from the tournament staff:

Hopefully, the girls can put together another good showing and end the season on a high note!

ExtraInning Softball interviewed Londyn last week and asked what it was like playing for the Vision.

***Vision Gold 2026-Barham 3B/1B Londyn Bond, #50 in the 2027 Extra Elite 100, has savored all the experience with her teammates and team this summer.

“A good example is the little slump that I went through in the middle of the season,” Bond said. “I struggled on offense and defense. But it was nice knowing that there were people beside me to lift me back up and pick up the slack. It is exactly what you hope for in a team. That hashtag ‘ironsharpensiron’ is definitely true with this team.”

Vision Gold closes out the summer season next week at at USA Elite Select World Fastpitch Championships July 17-23 in Kansas City.

“Right now we are 30-12-1 on the season with one tournament left,” Bond said. “We have played some of the best competition in the country, going up against several teams in your Extra Elite rankings. You ranked us at #50 this year … maybe next year we can move up a little higher! We may not have the name recognition as some of the ‘powerhouse’ programs, but I like to think people will know who we are next year.

“We have one tournament left and that is the World Fastpitch Championship in Kansas City next week, which it looks like there are several more teams in your rankings list that will be there, so I am excited to get to work and finish our season on a strong note.”

First off….I am surprise that they only played 43 games. When I coached back in 1997-2001, we were averaging 90 games a summer. It wore me out but the kids loved being together and playing ball.

Secondly, she sounds very intelligent with her response.

Wish her and her teammates the very best at Nationals.

It seems like the "showcase" teams are averaging 50-60 games/summer (at least around this area). We would be a little higher but had a couple of rainouts. I don't think I could handle more games than that! And really, I think we would need a roster of 14-15 to handle that many games, unfortunately not many people are OK with not playing 100% of every game. Right now, we've got a solid roster of girls that all compete for the TEAM. Which is great, it will be interesting to see how their schedule plays out next year.

Thank you! She is pretty smart, it also helps that her mom is also an english teacher, so writing is definitely a strong suit. Talk to her in person though and she is 100% goofy 13 year old girl.

And lastly, a performance update:

2-0 on the day outscoring opponents 16-2.

Well, nationals ended a little early. The girls got caught by two REALLY impressive teams. One the Vision had beaten before, but Iowa Premier came to play. The Vision had ZERO strikeouts in the game, but still managed to go scoreless. Every ball put in play was fielded perfectly by Iowa Premier.

We are in the "off season" now for a couple of weeks before they pick back up. I'll post season stats once they are compiled.
