CFN.com Preview: Missouri State vs. Oklahoma State

yup, my girlfriend and I were spit on leaving the 2001 16-13 game in Norman. We didn’t say anything to anyone all night, no trash talk just cheering on our team. Then 40 and 50 year old men and women started spitting on all the cowboy fans as we left.

nope….only possible reason at all would be if the financial incentive from a network were enough to justify handcuffing ourselves. I don’t really see that happening

they can, but will they? I’m excited about the direction we are going with the scheduling, adding Alabama is huge. Hope they keep it up. I’m curious though if the terms are equal? Is it costing us more to get Alabama to play in Stillwater than we are getting to go to There? Curious how...

Remember the Alamo! 97 was a pretty good year, but yeah outside of ou sucking the majority of the 90’s it was a tough decade.

Lewis Adams in 93?...I was there we wore those all Black Unis and I recall he scored but don't remember if he was first. I say LD Brown punches it in for the first score. Final score, 52-10...we always seem to give up a BS touchdown at some point in these games.

So if they announce that we have agreed to scheduling them moving forward will that mean Weiberg/Shrum are closet sooner fans? Or maybe after letting the emotion of what they did to the conference and OSU pass they decided it was really in OSU’s best interest to keep Bedlam a thing? as fans we...

Sure they can be. The guys I want to beat the worst also happen to come with the biggest paycheck. I can understand those who want to never play them again, I just don’t agree with that take. For the athletes at OSU it’s a special thing to go take them on. So I look at it from several...

exactly, maybe it’s just how I was brought up and taught by my parents and coaches but I want to beat their A**es and you can’t beat who you don’t play. to me if they offer to play, and we turn it down that reeks of running from them and showing no pride.

No less emotional than refusing to play them. But I agree, we really still are only guessing how this all looks in 3-4 years.

depending on our new conference structure once they are gone we may go down to 8 conference games. So we could play them and keep our other commitments.

oh, I wasn’t disagreeing with you at all. I’m just concerned about where we make up that shortfall. Who gets hurt? Someone will…something important to the student athletes will be cut. I think we made like 95.3 million in 2019, and spent 95 million. So we’ll be down to about 80 million...

That’s the part I don’t understand yet, maybe never will, every single data point I’ve seen shows that we are a top 20 program based on eyeballs on the screen. So are only the top 8-10 programs really the ones worth anything at all? Are our viewers not in the right communities, thereby...

no we can’t, but you still can’t continuously spend more than you earn (unless you’re the government) so either we make up as much as we can (which means playing Bedlam) or we sit back and enjoy life as a mid major with TU being our new rivalry game.

Big 12 Realignment thread, 2021 version

Exactly, I hate losing to them, but would hate to see what gets cut if we don’t play them and get the payday from that game. Keeping that game is our single most valuable asset to another conference. We are in the cusp of being $14 million per year upside down. That isn’t sustainable, if we...

I know that the GIA expansion was almost entirely financed, but that was under Terry Don Phillips. I don’t believe every project under holder was built totally debt free, but certainly appears that he was still able to minimize debt.

As of 2019 we were $67 million in debt and trending in the right direction. Which, when you think about the facilities we have built in the last 15 years, is nothing short of amazing. We have about $7 million a year paid in debt services, which is about the average of all Athletic Departments...
