    Covid-19

Tulsa county is almost entirely in Green on their zip map indicating low risk of spread. 38 zips are green, 4 are yellow and none are in any higher category. Very good news.

Does this mean no more daily situation reports?

    Covid-19

My rather simple look at the weekly zip map in Tulsa county showed that cases were increasing more quickly where there was not a mask mandate than where there was, although eventually the case counts were very high in Tulsa as well. This was also constantly reiterated by the mayor and other...

    Covid-19

Tulsa County did see a pretty big drop. 276 cases in the last week compared to 428 reported on 4/21. This is the lowest weekly number since June 9. To give an idea where things where going then, weekly it was: 6/2: 137 6/9: 221 6/16: 517

    Covid-19

Keeping it in place for restaurant workers didn't make a ton of sense, and was probably going to be tough to enforce so I'm glad it's the same rules for everyone.

    Covid-19

While I didn't notice any difference in performance, the general annoyance of wearing a mask never decreased like it did for other activities like shopping.

    Covid-19

I was asking my barber what their plan was for after the mandate ended, and he said the shop wouldn't have a rule, but he was personally going to keep wearing one. A year with no colds or anything has been nice for him.

    Covid-19

Last week cases dropped precipitously in Oklahoma, we seem to be doing even better so far this week. 7 day average is 238. Last Tuesday it was 263. I'm curious what tomorrow's county level data looks like. Despite the drop state wide, Tulsa County actually still increased. Hopefully we start a...

    Covid-19

My lymph node in the armpit on the arm I got the shot in was definitely swollen both times. Seems like it would be expected.

    Covid-19

I guess it depends on a number of factors. Are other countries with similar vaccination numbers experiencing lots of breakthrough infections, does my company bring the shots to the office to be given like they do with the flu? I'm hopeful that boosters won't be needed, but it's also not a bridge...

    Covid-19

I had Covid and got the vaccine. At least part of the reason for me was that I want things to go back to normal and the vaccine is the clearest way. The statistics around the number of people who have antibodies through getting covid are necessarily going to be way fuzzier than the ones that say...

    Covid-19

Age prioritization makes sense from a limiting death perspective, and it's also the only thing that can easily be checked via ID when you show up. Trying to enforce being sure someone is diabetic (or the right color) isn't really possible, especially when you're basically on the clock to give a...

NCAA threatens pulling Women's College World Series in OKC over Transgender athletes bill

Dismiss the bill until it is proven that Oklahoma needs it. As it stands now, the current OSSAA rule has been sufficient and is in line with NCAA rules. This bill is just culture warring and unnecessary at this time.

    Covid-19

7 day rolling average is 239 which is down 100 cases from a week ago (a week ago was when the 1,300 cases rolled off the average.) Hospitalizations haven't dropped off quite as much at 185 compared to 198.

    Covid-19

Only 75 cases reported today and 187 hospitalizations. While Hospitalizations and deaths are still the primary metric, it's good to see cases so low.

    Covid-19

Oklahoma is definitely in a free fall. 7 day average of 268 today. Was 314 on Thursday. It will probably tick back up some tomorrow and Wednesday, but still be a drop after a plateau. We're six weeks out from opening vaccines up to essential workers. And that was also about the time that...

If this is Schuyler Bailar, he competed on the men's team after he started transitioning.
