I don't want to come down on Ice because pre-mono, his sophomore year, he was really good. I think he can get back to that. I would like to see an improved catch and shoot and FTs as well. He just wasn't right after the foot injury last year. And he was a bad fit with Cade and AA.
I'm not sure Boynton's loyalty was commendable. It really hurt us in the Oregon State game. Maybe we make the same deep run. But that's one of those tough coaching decisions.
I think Ice will be fine if he stays healthy. He will be back with ball going downhill in transition more often. He...
I know Ice was bad at the end of last season, but I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he can return to form. With him on the floor a lot though, we need shooting out there as well. AA really improved that little pull up. If he can develop a knockdown, catch and shoot 3, look out...
Well, the goal is you don't get stuck playing Kouma who's skillset is not on par for the Big 12. He does add a big body as your third big though. But I think you're missing Keylan on this list that will play some minutes at the 4 as well.
I would like to see us get at least one impact transfer with one of our last two.
Newton, I believe adds shooting and length. But I think he is a role player next year. Tech transfer splits minutes at the 5 with Kalib which we really lacked this past year. So both role players. Keylan gives...
He obviously has good size and athletic ability, but we are getting some guys with some very underwhelming production. I guess he's an upgrade over Kouma as a guy who takes minutes at the 5 and maybe some at the 4.
Beard just scored another kid that avg 15ppg and 9reb in the SEC after securing...
Impressive stat line for player from Georgia, originally from Houston. Jeff Goodman tweeted we were a finalist of like 10 schools with heavy hitters like Kentucky and Kansas on there.
Biggest issue I see is he's...
It's a bit underwhelming. All the while he did this on a team where their coach got fired. Texas and Beard being involved makes you think the kid must have some raw talent that has yet to be developed. But Texas is also trying to fill out a depleted roster at this point. I didn't watch DePaul...
Also mentions many of the names on threads. The kid from Coastal Carolina has like 30 schools, many big name schools, after him. Not as much sure about the kid from UTEP.
Moser is definitely working the portal better than Boynton at the current moment. But he lost a lot so has more starting spots to entice recruits with. Still, I would like to see us get the portal going like other Big 12 schools are.
Yeah. It's hard to tell with that sample size though. Newton certainly prefers to shoot more 3's per shot than Ice. We know that much. But if he misses two more of those shots in that small amount of shots, he's 28% shooter. If he makes two more, he's 50% from 3.
Looks similar to the Newton kid with just picked up from Cuse. But with many open schollies left, I don't see why you don't take good athletes with good size that can shoot the ball. Particularly with a kid who still has four years of eligibility.
This Syracuse kid would be squarely competing for Keylan's minutes I would think. 7-18 is a very small sample size for 3's.
Maybe B. Williams, Keylan, Kouma, D. Williams, C. Harris
When I look at this, I would really...
Either that or we are finding talented kids who didn't quite fit where they were at as well. We certainly aren't scoring proven transfers like others are at this point. But there's still going to be plenty of activity in the portal. The looming NCAA stuff can't be helping us.
