Maybe you should read the article. The Doctor that was quoted in the article was stating that even when patients were deemed to have died from another reason they were being counted as a coronavirus. The medical profession is certainly not my field.

This is from Dr. Bhakadi to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. He was writing an open letter stating that Germany should not report deaths like Italy (and what NYC is doing), “At the same time, the mistake is being made worldwide to report virus-related deaths as soon as it is established that the virus was present at the time of death – regardless of other factors. This violates a basic principle of infectiology: only when it is certain that an agent has played a significant role in the disease or death may a diagnosis be made. The Association of the Scientific Medical Societies of Germany expressly writes in its guidelines: In addition to the cause of death, a causal chain must be stated.“

So using your thought experiment. A patient comes to the hospital after being hit by a bus. He dies, but he also tests positive for coronavirus. I don’t think counting it as a coronavirus death is correct. That is not why they died. And that is what the doctor said and what other medical professionals are saying,
You take my thought experiment to an illogical conclusion. If there were tire tracks and crush injury why would you test for COVID-19 post-mortem? You wouldn't, you would simply say, "hit by bus".

Fever, pneumonia, ARDS, death, the causal chain seems pretty clear to me. If you show me the Association of Scientific Medical Societies of Germany guideline I'll reconsider.

Earth
In good times and bad...

Father in Heaven
Your name be honored as Holy
Your will be done, on the Earth
as it is in Heaven,
Give us today,
Our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us,
Lead us not into temptation,
but from Evil, Lord, set us free..
for yours is the Kingdom,
yours is the Power,
yours is the Glory,
forever. And ever...
Amen...

May your day be filled with the peace that comes from above...

What the hell???

"Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Moreno allegedly ran the train at full speed off the end of the tracks near the Navy medical boat, smashing through several concrete and chain barriers, before sliding through a parking lot nearly 250 yards from the Mercy, according to the criminal complaint."

"A California Highway Patrol officer caught Moreno as he allegedly tried to escape from the scene, according to the complaint. Moreno allegedly told officers and FBI investigators that he deliberately derailed the train because he was suspicious of the Mercy's intentions and thought it was actually part of a government takeover, the complaint said."

Ok just to through a plot twist in here on your guys thought experiment. What was this guys cause of death?
https://twitter.com/nbcwashington/status/1245678633223667712
He had asthma, which made him priority 2 for testing. I hate it when people quote "guidelines" to cover their asses. His cause of death was COVID-19, of course - fever, cough, shortness of breath. Compounded by medical error/incompetence.

"The Health Ministry said it recorded 950 new deaths in the past 24 hours, the highest single-day increase the country has seen so far. Its total death tally is now 10,003, meaning it joins Italy as the only countries to report a five-figure death toll.
But there was cause for muted optimism in the country, whose devastating outbreak is slowing.
As death figures rise, the rate of new infections in Spain has fallen to its lowest rate since the start of the crisis. An increase of 3,056 cases was reported in the past day, just a 4.3% jump and a notable improvement on the daily situation in the country during mid-March."

Deborah Birx, the State Department immunologist advising the White House on its response to the outbreak, said Tuesday that China’s public reporting influenced assumptions elsewhere in the world about the nature of the virus.

“The medical community made -- interpreted the Chinese data as: This was serious, but smaller than anyone expected,” she said at a news conference on Tuesday. “Because I think probably we were missing a significant amount of the data, now that what we see happened to Italy and see what happened to Spain.”

February 24.

The same has been true in San Francisco’s Chinatown — a major tourist destination — and Pelosi hoped her visit would help bring the normal hustle and bustle of the neighborhood back.
“It’s exciting to be here, especially at this time,” said Pelosi as she walked surrounded by media and onlookers. “To be able to be unified with our community.
We want to be vigilant about what might be on the horizon — what is out there in other places. We want to be careful how we deal with it (coronavirus). But we do want to say to people, come to Chinatown. Here we are, again, careful, safe, and come join us.”

"Honestly, it sounds almost so silly to say, but there's a lot of restaurants that are feeling the pain of racism, where people are literally not patroning Chinese restaurants, they're not patroning Asian restaurants because of just straight-up racism around the coronavirus," she said during an Instagram Live session on Tuesday."
