Are you familiar with the Jones Act of 1920?

US flagged ships have to be built in the US. That’s law.
Only US flagged ships can engage in commercial business between US posts. That’s law.
Shipbuilding in the US is multiples more expensive than places like S Korea, Vietnam Indonesia, Philippines, etc.. That’s fact.
There is only one cruise ship that is flagged in the US - NCL America’s Pride of America (1999). That aside, the last cruise ship built in the US was more than 50 years ago.

Calling all Karens and other neighborhood busy bodies in Bellevue WA.....

Police launch tool to report “Stay home, stay healthy” violations
Sounds like an extremely smart and great use of police time. I am super proud that we have some elected officials that are so thoughtful and creative to come up with these outstanding policies.
Maybe their next idea can be to visit citizens that forget to brush their teeth in the morning and use the SWAT team to go after those without anti-persperant.

Finally hit someone connected to my hometown. Anyone has enough free time, read up on Bennie Adkins. 2014 medal of honor recipient, lived through some harsh shit. His foundation’s Facebook page just posted he’s in critical condition with respiratory failure from COVID 19.

This is terrifying:
https://www.tulsaworld.com/news/loc...WY4kATL2iO9we9baN-ih5E4abBMqIHKRVHO6gAO9XP8_Q

Let's look at the numbers...

Current ICU beds in the state: 282
Current confirmed COVID-19 patients in ICU beds: 35
Current suspected COVID-19 patients in ICU beds: 93
Current confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations: 59
Current suspected COVID-19 hospitalizations: 326
In Tulsa and OKC metro areas, hospitals report an average of 2-3 days of PPE.

45% of our state's ENTIRE ICU beds are taken up right now (not to mention any patients that were already in ICU). Don't let Oklahoma's low numbers fool you. This thing is bad.
Good lord. People who are still well better get on the Republican Health Care Plan--DON'T GET SICK! Trump would surely agree!

Will undergo a voice vote in the house tomorrow
This is the first time in my life gvt got it right at least on the business side, there is another $400B for larger businesses.
Expected to be signed by Trump by eod tomorrow.

Small business highlights of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
• A $350 billion forgivable loan program designed to ensure that small businesses do not lay off employees
• A 50% refundable payroll tax credit on worker wages will further incentivize businesses, including ones with fewer than 500 employees, to retain workers
• Looser net operating loss-reduction rules that will allow businesses to offset more
• A delay in employer-side payroll taxes for Social Security until 2021 and 2022
• Sole proprietors and other self-employed workers could be eligible for the expanded unemployment-insurance benefits the bill provides
• A portion of the $425 billion in funds appropriated for the Federal Reserve’s credit facilities will target small businesses
• Loans will be administered by banks and other lenders

• Businesses can receive loans up to $10 million, based on how much the company paid its employees between Jan. 1 and Feb. 29. The loans will carry an interest rate up to 4%. The bill provides for an expedited origination process.

• If the business uses the loan funds for the approved purposes and maintains the average size of its full-time workforce based on when it received the loan, the principal of the loan will be forgiven, meaning the company will only need to pay back the interest accrued.

Earth
The preacher man says it's the end of time
And the Mississippi River she's a-goin' dry
The interest is up and the Stock Market's down
And you only get mugged if you go downtown

I live back in the woods, you see
My woman and the kids, and the dogs, and me
I got a shotgun, a rifle, and a 4-wheel drive
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

I can plow a field all day long
I can catch catfish from dusk 'til dawn
We make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too
Ain't too many things these old boys can't do
We grow good old tomatoes and homemade wine
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

Because you can't starve us out
And you can't make us run
'Cause we're them old boys raised on shotgun
And we say "grace" and we say "Ma'am"

And if you ain't into that we don't give a damn

We came from the West Virginia coal mines
And the Rocky Mountains and the western skies
And we can skin a buck; we can run a trotline
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

I had a good friend in New York City
He never called me by my name, just hillbilly
My grandpa taught me how to live off the land
And his taught him to be a businessman
He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights
And I'd send him some homemade wine

But he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife
For 43 dollars my friend lost his life
I'd love to spit some beech nut in that dude's eyes
And shoot him with my old .45
'Cause a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

'Cause you can't starve us out and you can't make us run
'Cause we're them old boys raised on shotgun
And we say "grace" and we say "Ma'am"

And if you ain't into that we don't give a damn

We're from North California and South Alabama
And little towns all around this land
And we can skin a buck; we can run a trotline
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
Country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

Btw, I, Rack, didn't not write this tune...Mr. Hank Williams Jr. did...lol.
