For eight years Obama was called everything in the book and his judgement and policy questioned at every turn. Now it’s fowl play to say a word against or question anything about dear leader. Got it.
Poor widdle Obama. Spent all eight years of his scandal-ridden administration getting a free pass from the media.

Okie doke. I'll pass this along to the infectious disease specialist.
I'm simply repeating what Marc Lipsitch said in an interview he is one of the leading infectious disease specialist in the country. He is saying the death rate from corona is below 1 percent when we account for all the people that have it and haven't been tested. They pulled 3k random test in Italy to create a number to make an estimate of how many people have the virus that haven't been tested. The number of infections is being massively under reported 30 to 50x.

Even a partisan Obama guy would have to say (outside of Fox) Obama got a lot easier ride from the media that most Presidents.

Okie doke.

"They pulled 3k random test in Italy to create a number to make an estimate of how many people have the virus that haven't been tested."

Just to point out, you must've misunderstood this part. The people who have been tested have been symptomatic enough to seek care. If you are going to estimate the number of asymptomatic carriers or people with mild disease you do not pull from a population that's symptomatic enough to get tested. We aren't going to know that number for quite some time and it's not a number that we can know right now.

People with asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic flu who never get tested and don't count in the numbers. I had flu-like symptoms in Feb but didn't get tested. Just stayed home for a couple of days. How would anyone count me?

But, again.... okie doke and I'll pass your expertise along to my friend.

A man in New Jersey has been charged with making terrorism threats after intentionally coughing on a Wegmans employee and then claiming he had coronavirus.

A woman in Hanover Township Pennsylvania went into a Gerrity's supermarket and intentionally begin coughing on food in the store and she is facing possible terrorism charges.

The owner said they had to throw $35,000 worth of produce, baked goods and meat away she went around coughing on
That's some expensive groceries, even if at consumer cost.

No clue I was just pointing out the next "Thing" that is going to be thrown at Trump
This gets to the heart of the issue to me though, which is having a plan to implement that takes the politics out of it. I have no trouble believing an existing plan might have been completely disregarded just based on the general pattern of Trump hating and dismantling of anything Obama. None of that is to say the plan would have made much difference, but that is where we really need to focus on the back side of this. A plan needs to be agreed upon and in place that will survive from one administration to the next, based on lessons learned from this one.

Nobody says he's above the law or perfect, but people (including left politicians) are trying to blame him for the fact that China and the WHO lied to the world. They should be blaming China.

All of these people trying to say Trump didn't do enough....

Nikki Haley:
"Let’s be clear: The WHO delayed calling the virus a health emergency and then criticized U.S. travel restrictions placed on China. The WHO was trying to save China its embarrassment. And still, China wouldn’t cooperate transparently with the WHO."

Random Twitter troll:
"China didn't botch the US response. Trump, Trump media, and the Trump GOP did that with denialism and inaction.

You cost us 3 PRECIOUS MONTHS and now we're sending our healthcare warriors into battle without weapons or gear."

3 months ago was December 26.
China and WHO downplayed the virus.
The first China reported death was Jan. 11th I believe.
China didn't do a lock-down of Wuhan until Jan. 23rd.
Trump restricted travel Jan. 31.

Here's a timeline of some of the things Trump did to respond.

You’re right, Trump the stable genius, truly does know more than the generals, scientists, and physicians. He is so warm and empathetic. He’s truly giving so much of himself to comfort the people. Totally selfless. He’s so truthful. There has never been such a great man, so perfect and beyond reproach. How dare anyone question anything he does. I can only think of one man that exceeds him.
Told you to stop talking to me.

Are you familiar with the Jones Act of 1920?

US flagged ships have to be built in the US. That’s law.
Only US flagged ships can engage in commercial business between US posts. That’s law.
Shipbuilding in the US is multiples more expensive than places like S Korea, Vietnam Indonesia, Philippines, etc.. That’s fact.
There is only one cruise ship that is flagged in the US - NCL America’s Pride of America (1999). That aside, the last cruise ship built in the US was more than 50 years ago.

Trying to compare regional size IE land mass that is close to Italy vs the entire US.

Italy is 116,300 sq Miles and New York is 54,556 sq miles

population density in land mass is much more important than total population right now
But you're comparing a population of approx 18 million, half of which live in one city, to a population of 60 million. If you want to be accurate compare the states or perhaps the cities. If you want to compare to European national levels than compare national/megalopolitan area (Italy = Northeast Megalopolis) that are similar.

Exactly...you have to test everyone (including those with few or no symptoms) to determine the true mortality rate. Dr. Fauci said he suspects we will find a mortality rate about 10 times that of the regular flu rate or about
1%.

Dr. Birx killing it again. Said that the reality on the ground doesn't match the early models and that there are enough beds and ventilators in the NY area to handle current demand.

For those of you really interested, these daily briefings are excellent once you get to Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci.
