Ringer will be looking to improve his standing at the world championships (if he wins the spot on Team USA from Kyle Dake... probably should have a thread on that) this weekend at the Dogu in Istanbul.

Here's the bracket, which is a random draw:

Ringer will be the favorite to win this thing if he wrestles the way he has been wrestling... but there is an Olympic bronze medalist and a junior world silver medalist in this bracket as well.

79kg quarter finals are at 3am Central tomorrow morning and semis will be at 8am Central tomorrow morning.

If Ringer advances to the finals, it will be around 10am Central on Saturday.

wow Yanni D. from Cornell was down 0-9 at the break and then won. Just completely murdered the dude from Hungary down the stretch. Wore him out.

Ringer is up now.

Ringer picks up a penalty point from the shot clock going into the break. Not the pace we are used to seeing from Ringer here... he's going to get put on the shot clock to start the second period.

Uhh... something weird just happened and the stream cut to the end of the match and Ringer was getting his hand raised... Won 4-0. No idea how it happened but great job Ringer!

Ringer will take on Akhsarbek Gulaev from Slovakia in the finals tomorrow.

Gulaev is a two time U23 Europe silver medalist. He is unranked.
I cannot confirm if Gulaev is indeed from Slovakia, or Slovenia... not sure if there's really any difference between the two countries... I mean... aside from not really being that close to each other... and having different languages within the Slovic language (Solvak and Slovene). Slovenia has a coast between Italy and Croatia. Slovakia is land locked.

I dare anyone to try to read this in any voice other than Paul Harvey. It can't be done. LOL

EDIT: Youngsters who have no idea who he is could do it. :D
