I think it would be better to start a "who wants to get kicked in the nuts?" thread.

To the point that most of us are pretty resigned to the outcome due to our history, I think the real bummer was the way OU went down the field in 4 plays the first time they touched the ball. Couldn't we sit there in denial for a few minutes before we were reminded we've seen this movie?

Hmmm....are we talking bedlam cup where all sports matter or are we using the cousin-humping-sooner logic where only football matters?

This is so true. Friend of mine and myself got into a huge argument last week on this. Of course he’s an OU guy and he says football is the only sport that counts. He didn’t want to hear anything else about other sports. I got him when I told him he could go tell his son that the sports he played didn’t count for anything.

7-24-1

OU has been ranked in the Top 10 fifteen times.
OSU was the higher ranked team only four times.

It makes sense. Fortunately, it has no bearing on the outcome of future Bedlams.

Reference chart I came up with. Occasionally baseball. golf, softball, etc, do actually count. Try to follow along.

OSU is 10-54-1 versus OU over my lifetime. Ouch. Includes a 17 year stretch without a win from the late 70's (when I graduated from OSU) through the early 90's. I have some great memories (during the game at least) of beating OU in Norman in 1976. I was down on the turf at one end of the field for that one.

That said, 7 of the 10 wins and the 1 tie are in the last 28 years, along with some heart-breakingly close losses. OSU has been way more competitive over the last 28 years than they were in the previous 37.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

That drive started the downward spiral for my dad (68) even though we immediately answered. He was on a downward trend right out of the gate and couldn't even consider pulling out of it.
