8/30/2010 Revision of forum rules:

The previous rules here were rather vague. So to make things a little more clear, we've revised the rules:

  • Due to close ties with the athletic department, OP does not allow the discussion of gambling or betting. ESPECIALLY on college athletics. And SUPER ESPECIALLY on OSU athletics. Such threads will be deleted.
  • To protect athletes and programs from potentially harmful rumors on the internet, we DO NOT allow the posting of unconfirmed rumors or information on the main forum of this website that may prove harmful to the player or team. If you must discuss these things, they are allowed in the A/V forum. Posting such a rumor will result in the thread being deleted. Only exception to this rule is if the poster cites his source.
  • OP is not a hobby, it is a business. We have paying advertisers and subscribers we are accountable to. As such we do not allow the advertising or promotion of competitive websites. These threads will be deleted. Repeated attempts will result in a ban. Competitive websites include, but are not limited to both blogs and message boards.
  • Posts on the main board should be about OSU athletics and OSU athletics only. Off topic posts will be moved to their respective forums. A blatant disregard for posting off-topic threads in the wrong forum will result in warnings then bans.
  • All threads and posts had better serve a constructive purpose. The chat room is a better alternative for having stupid conversations. Or facebook. Or another website where those conversations are better suited. Post padding, firsts, pages, and other internet memes are not welcome here.
12/2010 Rule Additions:

These have actually been one of our rules for awhile, but loosely enforced and was not in writing. It's going to be strictly enforced now.
  • Animated avatars and signatures are not allowed.
  • Advertising in avatars and signatures is also not allowed. This includes businesses, contests, multi-level marketing, scams, or ad farms. Anything that is meant to generate cash.
9/2011 Rule Additions:
  • Suggestive or inappropriate images in avatars or signatures. Yes, this does include scantly clad women. There are areas of the website where these are allowed, just not in signatures and avatars where they can be seen in the main forums.
8/2012 Rule Additions:
  • The Swaim rule. Mentioning Greg Swaim either positively or negatively will result in the post or thread being deleted.
Rule suspended. I think most people have learned he's not a reliable source by now. Moderator request is to however do your best not to promote him or his services.

12/2013 Rule Additions:
  • Sharing your user name / password with a non-A/V member for the purpose of browsing that forum is a banable offense. Penalties can include permanent loss of A/V subscription with no refund, a temp ban, or a perm ban at moderator discretion.
  • Subscribing to the A/V for the sole purpose of providing information to non-A/V subscribers in extreme cases is a banable offense. Penalties can include permanent loss of A/V subscription with no refund, a temp ban, or a perm ban at moderator discretion.
