So the POTUS is using his platform to manipulate markets and make some people some money, but it's totes cool OMG LOL because the reactions are hilarious. A new low every day.
Edited: I reread your new low comment and I don’t think it meant what I originally took it to mean, so I removed the comment.

I provided an opinion on why I think he does this I also know that his history, well before he was elected potus, is that he uses theatre (mundane) to get your attention away from where he’s actually working (what’s actually important).
Don’t be surprised if there’s not a trade agreement with China in the next 30-60 days and likely it will be highly favorable to the US. See how Mexico has become far more aggressive on the border as an example, while he was pi$$ing everyone off on social media a very favorable agreement was struck with Mexico. In the meantime sit back and enjoy the show, he ain’t stopping it’s who he is and why he’s effective, as for a new low, if this is low and what we’ve had since Reagan was a high, I’ll take the low.

If it could be proven that he did this to create money making opportunities in the market for all the moneyed, not just his buds, that is something where I’d support discipline up to and possibly including impeachment.
However, you’ll never prove it and the moneyed reside on both sides of the aisle, while they’re publicly feigning outrage privately they’re pouring money in and chuckling about how they used the orange man to increase their wealth. Hopefully you’re taking advantage of the buying opportunities and not being scared away by the rhetoric.
I should add, yes I’m quite entertained by the throngs of Orange man bad sheeple of the left.

You are suffering from recency bias as it relates to the ‘new lows’ every day. That’s not even remotely close to an accurate statement.

Sorry. I meant new lows as in this president does and says things that take the office of the president to nw lows every day. Your response to why the POTUS tweeted this was "so the money can get in on the dip" because he knows people react irrationally to his tweets. That's manipulation and I don't know why you guys let it slide no matter who the POTUS is.

And just as entertaining are the Orange man good sheeple of the right.

The point here is the POTUS tweeting out some order to American Companies like he has any authority to do it.

It goes against one of the very foundation principals of the GOP. If any other POTUS in modern history would have tweeted this or said this in these same words it would be attacked immediately by GOP and Dems alike across all levels of govt and would be the focus question of Presidential debates until the next election over the power of the POTUS office

You might want to reread what I posted
Edit add:
and yes every potus, and to the extent they’re capable, every elected pol from the city council to the senate does it as well. The issue is proof and a desire by other pols to prosecute it. They won’t because, ftmp, they are all complicit.
In terms of the point, two things, a trade agreement is coming and 2 forget the crying this is a buy opportunity and we haven’t had all that many since 6 mos or so after he took office, due to market trajectories.

Higher higher and higher lows intact? I have looked at charts for awhile.
There's been a lot of volatility over the past few weeks with the escalation in the trade war and the inverted yield curve, but the indices are still above the 200 day moving averages. We may have a few more days of bleeding, but it's an excellent buying opportunity if the trade war doesn't continue to escalate. Note what happened the last time we had a dip like this.

Now trace that back to bush sr, then wjc then bjr then bho - the lows are historically high and continue to climb, sell side analysts (the true value side of analyst world) are particularly adept at understanding that.

Ultimately it is extended, and lowering valleys, and decreasing peaks, that create concern in the markets, it is hyperbole that creates panic in people.

I would've hated to buy at the top just prior to the great depression, but for the most part, buying & holding U.S. equities has worked extremely well. There's a lot of truth to that old adage "Time in the market is more important than timing the market."

that graph is pretty interesting.... the market didn't do much for decades between 55-85, then once Reagans policies and economy took hold, it climbed like crazy until Slick Willy finally stopped it with his dotCom crash and high taxes...

this chart doesn't show it, but hopefully we're in for another steep climb once Trump gets this trade deals worked out and cuts payroll taxes again.

well... actually, IMHO, there is a big difference.... Obama was telling us (citizens) and US Companies not to challenge HIM because he was KING and he knew best what is good for us...

Trump, on the other hand, is just signaling to the US businesses that America is not going to be supporting them in China, and they'll be more profitable cutting their losses now.

that is actually a substantial difference in my opinion.

Trump just hammered the oil market by selling US reserves.... LOL (it's killing Russia, and Saudi has also cut back production to try and boost prices), while the US is selling it's cheap reserves

I will respectfully disagree, you’re correct there are a decent number of Trumpsters but the entertainment of value of Trumpsters isn’t close to that of the sheeple of the left.

I’m only in for money and laughs,

Trump helps on both fronts

Then I invite you to scroll down to the 56-page thread of middle-aged men bitching about things a 30-year-old New York girl says. It's an opinion. And you don't think that particular thread is funny because you agree with most of what's said about her. I'm enjoying seeing both sides pretend to be outraged at the other. Clowns to the Left of me, Jokers to the Right.

Two things:
I have no idea what you’re referring to, I scan this forum from time to time I’ve never studied it, due to current circumstances I’ve had a little more time to scan the last couple of days, happily that won’t last as circumstances changed again yesterday. So if you’d be so kind as to direct me to this hilarity I’d be most appreciative.

You have an emotional attachment to this topic for some reason so you read things in that aren’t said or even hinted at. I agree Trumpsters can be a barrel of monkeys on occasion but for a steady stream of knock you out humor (in some cases literally) over idiotic ideology positions, nothing beats the left and It’s just not close.

BTW
I’ve worn this in Pleasanton, San Francisco, Berkeley (Sauls deli is outstanding if you’re ever out here let me know I’ll buy you lunch/brunch, not a joke) Tempe, Phoenix, Scottsdale (Butters is my favorite breakfast place in the Phoenix area) and many other places, my daughter, an ivory soap idgad libertarian, bought it for me. It sums up my thoughts on all this perfectly.

A gay couple at rising loafer in Pleasanton asked me about it, I asked them what their reaction was to the hat one guy said he didn’t have one the other said he was offended until he read it. I told him that was the point, his companion laughed and so did I.
I should add, that was one of the points, the other was that swallwell had a booth on the corner of the farmers market and I asked for information, they ignored me, even though I had my bloodhound with me, what’s this world coming to when a dyed in the wool socialist pri$k won’t acknowledge a man with a bloodhound. Yes, I also can be a bit of an a$$

Huh? I have zero emotion attached to this topic. Just trying to point out the cycle of outrage and find it funny that no one can admit it. There is a steady stream of knock out humor on the left right now because we have a Republican president. But the "outrage" from the Right is just as funny when there's a Democrat in the White House. The two sides literally switch depending on who the POTUS is.
