I spent a couple of summers in western Kansas while I was in college, and discovered that part of the country has a beauty to it, you just have to learn to see it.
Whoa whoa whoa. I like driving thru the panhandle when I go to Colorado. Call me crazy. It's relaxing and peaceful. And as boring as it is, it isn't half as boring as I-70 and half as stinky as the Dodge City area.

Or I-40 through the Texas panhandle. Those feedlots in Wildorado just outside Amarillo, whoof the smell permeates your car and senses and you end up smelling it for hours after you have past them.
