What the hell is she talking about? The governor of Virginia declared a freaking stare if emergency for the march. I promise you there was an enormous police presence there.

Not that it was needed.....tweets like this only highlight the fact that the left doesn't make a distinction between criminals and law abiding gun owners. They have actually started to believe their own lies.

Either way, it was a completely peaceful protest with no violence and no destruction. ALL THOSE PEOPLE ARMED TO THE TEETH and somehow everyone was perfectly civil.

Not at all surprising to people like you and me.... inconceivable to lefties like AOC.
She's not left, she's right-center...

Wasn't sure which thread to put this in since this topic has been mentioned in several, but this guy perfectly addresses AOC's comments at one point so am putting it here. For those that won't watch, AOC says there are people waving confederate flags and carrying semi-auto rifles and there aren't enough police there....in other words, she's basically saying people exercising their 1st and 2nd amendment rights is inherently criminal and needs a strong police presence. Yes, that's today's Democrat party.

How many people in this thread live in AOC's District?

I don't, and I don't suspect many on this board do. It's weird that this many (mostly negative) responses to a Freshman congressional member.

Granted she does say a few obnoxious things, and she is more attractive than most Congress members, but it does seem like a lot of the outrage may be because many of the posters are being manipulated by the media.

I would expect more people on here (because of the obvious Conservative bias) praising someone like Dan Crenshaw than disparaging Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC has become a national figure while Crenshaw hasn't.
She is in people's news feeds, has a documentary, etc.
Crenshaw doesn't get much coverage even in Houston area.

Socialism is the future of the (D) party. She is the leader of that movement in the House. It's not complicated.

Aside from the Green New Deal, I'm not aware of many of her stances outside of traditional Democratic left. As a left leaning moderate, I consider Pelosi, Schumer to be more in touch with most Democrats and Bernie Sanders when they want a more fiery soundbyte.

It's interesting when you see how much more Fox News talks about Ocasio-Cortez than most media outlets.
