Mike Holder, please take the bull by the horns and make a change at head coach of the basketball program. You have a very experienced coach on staff and you need to let him run the team for the rest of the year. Name Scott Sutton interim head coach now. If results improve and we somehow make the NCAA tourney, then swallow your pride and give Scott a 3 year contract and see if he can bring us back to a respectable Big XII basketball program.

Dont know your opinions on Scott, but he did have multiple 20 win seasons at ORU. Not exactly a school with the support and resources for basketball that OSU has. And, I guarantee he would produce better results than we are getting right now. Not saying Id want him to be head coach moving forward, but if he were able to make the tourney with this squad, Id give him a 3 year deal to see if he could sustain those results.

Lol. He just landed the #2 in the nation and the rest of his recruiting is the likes of which we have not seen in years. They are going through a slump now, but last year they significantly overachieved for our talent level. Put down the whiskey and take a breath dude.

This squad isn't making any tourney with any coach. The people we have to lean on are limited in ability and all have holes in their game. Freshmen are freshmen. Unless they are one and done types it takes a year for them to begin to reach their potential. I don't know if Boynton is the guy or not? But at least give him 4-5 years to see what he can do. We're not in the position to hire anyone with any track record anyway.

Yep and Cunningham will be in and out like Tre Young at OU and Boynton won't develop the other guys he recruited. But keep holding on hope that he will actually turn out to be a good coach. I remember people holding onto hope with Travis Ford for several years too.

Cunningham is our hope, and is saving Boynton his job this year. What happens when he shows up, gets in trouble or has eligibility problems or whatever? That seems to be the trend every year.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to fire a coach before the end of a season unless they do something illegal or against NCAA rules. It would probably make it more difficult to hire our next coach if we did that. All that being said, Coach Boynton is in his 3rd year, and it's time for him to produce results.

Honestly ask yourself who has a worse lineup than OSU right now -take into consideration that Likele isn't in the same condition he was in November. Once you've answered that question it's worth determining whether that is going to get better. That's your answer.

Just a few weeks ago we were in the top 25, and we were talking about giving Coach Boynton an extension to make sure we didn't lose him. Now we're struggling, and we're talking about firing him mid-season.

It's a long season. Let's let it play out before calling for anyone's head.

If Monken comes back the same people will be asking for Gundy to be let go and let Monken be head coach. Which actually may happen.
