Indicating too much money being put on OSU at -3?
Actually the opposite. If the line drops, it’s because more money is coming in on UT covering -3, so it gets lowered to -2.5. If it goes up, more money is coming in on the favorite so they readjust to try to get more money on the dog. The houses goal is to get even money on both sides of the game, that way the losing bets cover the winning bets and the book makes 10% on the vig, regardless of outcome.

Line typically moves in the direction of the $.

A sportsbooks goal is to have even money on both sides.
It's odd to me how many people don't understand this simple concept. Let's clear a few things up.

"Vegas"
Doesn't care who wins
Isn't setting a line outside of what they really believe to "draw people in"
Isn't going to take a beating on any game because you are ultimately betting against other betters, not the house.

Supposedly Ehlinger got dinged up with a calf injury and their best LB Ossai may not even play and one of their top running backs is also fighting injuries. Some of this might be internet smoke but it looks like UT won’t be 100% coming in on Saturday.

Texas is a very very talented team. We need to play our best game and not turn the ball over. We "should" win, but it's five star talent Texas and you just never know...plus they played a good game last week vs Baylor. It's harder to not be the dog in this game. Go Pokes and take this dead seriously and we will win.

No buddy is 100% at any stage of any season, look at our O-Line. If players played last week they got dinged. Last TV statement I heard they have 55 - 4 or 5 star recruits on the active play list. I'd say advantage TX, but we have experienced players - so, Sherlock Holmes is our best chance.

Saw this in Phoenix when there for the Fiesta Bowl, loved it and we needed it.

I've spent the last decade worrying about UT and their 4 - 5 star talent and high paid coaches. I'm not going to jinx in now, because they are still talented, but we should handle this team.

Ehlinger is like herpes that he never goes away, he could give us trouble.

Make them throw it 40+ times, win the TO battle & OSU wins. Ehlingers not going to beat good teams that way.

interesting that ESPN is very quite this week on the OSU-uT game. You'd think Big12 leader vs Blue Blood would draw some story-line there.

Well, you pretty much knew that with the B1G starting up, SEC playing, & OU & Texas outta the picture, it'd be quiet on the Big 12 front. Hell, they've already jumped to projecting the PAC 12 into the playoff ahead of the Big 12.

In other news, that's not good for UT:

https://n.rivals.com/news/sting-factor-quinn-ewers-decommitment-from-texas

decommitted from Texas on Wednesday night, striking a major blow to the Longhorns and possibly to the future of coach Tom Herman unless things change drastically in Austin - and soon.

The fallout from Ewers’ decision cannot be understated as the 2022 five-star quarterback from Southlake (Texas) Carroll was the top-ranked prospect at his position and the sixth-best recruit in his class, a talent that does not come around every recruiting class and someone who could have been the face of Texas football in the coming years.
Instead, it looks like Ewers might not only have backed off his Texas pledge on Wednesday night but it’s becoming clear that Ohio State could land his new commitment soon, taking the Longhorns out of the picture at least for the time being.
The Longhorns are now down to two commitments in the 2022 recruiting cycle from four-star receiver
Phaizon Wilson

out of Denton (Texas) Ryan who could very well end up at Oklahoma. Texas is currently ranked No. 18 in the team rankings, three spots behind the Sooners and two behind Texas A&M.

I am not worry about the dishearten 5* talents on that politically disoriented team.

I am more worried about Sanders fumbling the football or throwing to the other team.

Side note.

Not trying to bring politics into the sports forum, but the players at UT recently created a list of demands including getting rid of the school song. I don't know if the mods will let this ride because of the direction it could go but it's worth noting it could be a bit of a distraction and dissention on the team.

Didn't they do that back in July? They wanted the song gone, wouldn't participate in recruiting efforts, the name removed from the football field, etc....?

I saw it on Surlyhorns this week when I went to see what they had to say. It might be old news.
