I had a smaller tax liability and got about the same refund. Oh well. Guess I can't yell and whine. I want something to throw a tantrum about.

That's easy. Get a lobotomy and join the socialist democratic party. You can yell and whine about stupid stuff all you want to.

I would love to whine and complain as me and the wife are going to have to pay around $1200 this year between state and fed where last year we got a small refund overall... EXCEPT that we paid overall about $19k less in taxes this year! (I am in sales and made less and also dropped a tax bracket, combined with the tax changes made it so large). Of course if I had just looked at it from a refund perspective like the others I might not be happy either.

Another interesting tid bit. I filed online and received my refund ALREADY, last week. Even with the shutdown that is the earliest I've ever received a refund...of course I usually don't receive one so there's that.

I filed Thursday the 31st and the cash was in my account on Thursday the 7th. Not a bad turnaround.

I was pleasantly surprised with my return. Basically got the same amount that I got back last year. Now I'm just waiting for it to hit my bank account.

Same here. Just got done with my CPA...

Last year: I made more money. I paid more in taxes. I kept more with each paycheck. AND my return was $600+ more than the previous year.

Sooooo... Thank You President Trump. ;)

Side note: My CPA did say she had "a number of clients" that were not so lucky and were hit with "substantial surprises".

I made out like a bandit! Now being eligible for the child tax credit and the 20% company profit reduction was very beneficial.

Me being the huge procrastinator that I am just got done with our taxes. Got $300 more back than last year. Here I was all thinking the refund was going to smaller or we might even have to pay in this year.

I really am astounded at the number of folks out there that just don't understand the process. A lot of paycheck to paycheck folks have no idea how the withholding from their paychecks are related to the eventual refund or lack thereof.
