Just made this Monday night for the Bedlam tailgate.

Apple Pie Moonshine:

Ingredients:

1 gallon apple cider
1 gallon apple juice
3 cups white sugar
8 cinnamon sticks
1 liter bottle of 190 proof moonshine or grain alcohol (Everclear)

Directions

  1. In a large stock pot, combine the apple cider, apple juice, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Bring it to a boil, then take it off the heat and allow it to cool.
  3. Add the liter of high proof liquor.
  4. Pour this into mason jars, put the lids on, and let it mellow out. You could drink it right away, but it does get better after a couple of weeks.
This recipe makes about 9 quarts of apple pie moonshine. You could easily cut this recipe in half if that is too much.
Warning! Apple pie moonshine will sneak up on you! This stuff is so smooth and tasty. Use with CAUTION!
Made 1/2 batch of this for my dinner guests to take home and try. I gave each person an 8oz jar after dinner with orange and black ribbons on it and the requisite warning. I went with 2/3 of the bottle of Everclear rather than 1/2. At our age if we wait for liquor to "sneak up on us" we'll be asleep by the time it does. :)

All reviews were thumbs up with requests for the recipe.

I plan on making this for the family around Thanksgiving. :runaway:

I've always joked that if you want to take the lil-smokie/jalapeno/bacon thing to the next level you'd deep fry them and dip them in ranch. I'm glad to see someone is getting closer to the awesomeness.
Dice up the ingredients and mix it all in with the cream cheese, roll up in wonton wrapper and deep fry.
