That's what I was thinking too.

They oppose a playoff as being too many games for the teams . .. well, we are now in a situation where everyone has 3-4 games off their plates.

How about a 5 game schedule: Preseason top 32 play-off. 5 games means could even wait until Nov to start.

If the NCAA wanted to produce a playoff system, there's not ever going to be a better time to do so like now.

With everything up in the air and schedules beting in flux and the possibility of fans and logistics suspended in mayhem, retract the old contracts between schools and conferences, reduce the number of non-con games and begin a "March Madness -- shorter version" playoff immediately.

I think football fans are so ready for any kind of football as soon as possible due to COVID that they'd be willing to adjust on the fly to new schedules.

Just play football!!
