what's funny is in his article he says that he has been consistently good at his predictions. .
He gave some BS stat about his preseason top 25 always making bowl games or some stupid crap. Congrats, bowl games are participation medals of college football.

He also explained that he was proven right because a team like Texas stayed in his power ranking all year. If you're going to use your own ranking to prove you're right you should have a high success rate.

That’s not happening. Gundy isn’t good enough to torch any decent team. We will be lucky to win that one
Example #1 2013 a Undefeated Baylor @ OSU ...Oklahoma State 49 Baylor 17
Example #2 2011 a 2 loss OU @ OSU...Oklahoma State 44 ou 10
Example #3 2016 a 10 win Colorado vs OSU...Oklahoma State 38 - Colorado 8
Example #4 2013 a 6 win streak, including OU, Texas @ Texas...Oklahoma State 38 - Texas 13

Certainly there are others...

Thank you for proving Jimmy wrong. Also, see Baylor 2011. Cowboys win 59-24.

Love that game and it helped propel OSU to a decade of great football...but it wasn't a blowout so I didn't include it. Gundy has lots of those types of games under his watch. @ A&M in 2011 comes to mind first for me...then this one. That Missouri game was a big deal however and cant be understated in terms of its impact on the program (i.e. Gundy, Stadium, new truf, indoor facility...all those things may or may not have happened had we not shown promise like that and the two bedlam wins Miles had).

Got it - but I thought it was worthy because they were ranked SO high. Also one of my all time favorite "cinematic" highlights as it has the locker room scenes with the coaches speaches and the game Gundy indicated as the turning point of the program.

I remember back in the day when it was a big deal if we qualified for a bowl game. Maybe some forget just how far the program has come the last few years.

Yep, they were a good to great team that we beat on the road...Gundy has done that consistently every single year...even last year when we won in Morgantown, Lubbock, and Ames. Btw, two of those teams (WVU and ISU) are coached by coaches I bet Jimmy would rather have than Gundy...never mind their losing records against him.

Thought of another one...
Example #7: 6-0 Undefeated and 10th ranked West Virginia @ Stillwater 2016, OSU 37 - WVU 20

Btw, if you guys don't remember 2015 in Morgantown, I would highly recommend a re-watch of the OT and the coaching involved...it's easy to recall the times we disagree with clutch time OSU coaching...but we forget times when we get it right.

But the truth is there that you can’t deny. It is very rare for us to pile it on against a good team. You can say 2011 but that ou team was decent at best. Also, it is rare for us to torch any top 25 team.
Sarcasm? Are you reading this thread?

I have given multiple examples of when we have done EXACTLY that almost on an annual basis under Gundy.

In 2013 Baylor finished 11-2, they beat everyone in the conference except us...and we thumped em by 32 points. They finished the season ranked #13. OU finished 2011 ranked #15 beat Iowa in their bowl by nearly 30 yet lost to us by 34 points. In 2016 Colorado had won 10 games and was ranked #11 in the AP before we beat them 38-10 and knocked them out of the final poll. In 2015 TCU was ranked #5 and undefeated when we torched them in Stillwater 49-29. The frogs ended the season 11-2 and ranked #7. West Virginia was ranked #10 in 2016 and undefeated when we beat them in Stillwater by 17. The Mountaineers finished that year 10-3 and ranked #16.

I've given you four examples since 2011 of exactly what you said is "very rare" for our program...some of them very impressive (TCU, WVU, and Baylor games), but because they are TCU, WVU, and Baylor I think our fans discount their significance. Basically cowboyethics344, I think fans are so blindsided by our failure in Bedlam that we forget all our very worthy results other than in Bedlam.

Btw, it's "rare" for any team to routinely "torch" top 25 teams. The fact we have done it at least four times in the past six years is very impressive.

And what's your point? That is the truth for almost every team in D1 football. There are very few teams that have even winning records against top 25 opponents, and it's rare for most all teams to win big versus a top 25 opponent. I don't have time to search, but I've seen recaps of this before. Truth is most all teams pad their wins with lesser opponents and play fairly close to .500 ball against other ranked teams.

No, we aren't Bama yet.

I did find this. Take a look below at the records of all 14 SEC schools against ranked teams from 2005-14. Only 3 teams have a winning record against ranked opponents and one of those is just slightly over.
