The month of June is a busy one for the Oklahoma State staff. From mini-camps in early June to subsequent video breakdown, offer sorting and commitment grabbing, it can be plenty of work to juggle as the season fast approaches.

Nonetheless, last week was no exception to the hustle and bustle that comes with the offseason. There were numerous offers out the door worth noting, so let’s recap quickly to get you up to speed on what you may have missed – starting with new offers and then digging into notable recent visitors.

Myles Jernigan, OLB: Jernigan is a 2019 outside linebacker from South Grand Prairie who is the “cuzzo” of 2019 OSU pledge Jayden Jernigan, in Jayden’s own words. That connection can’t hurt. Myles is a 6-3, 210-pound recruit with offers from Baylor, Cal, Houston and a handful of others.

Vernon Broughton, DE: Houston-area pass-rusher Vernon Broughton, a 6-5, 250-pound (!!) defensive end, picked up his second Big 12 offer this past week – OU being the first. Broughton is bordering on blue-chip status because despite his three-star ranking, OU, Alabama, Georgia, Houston and Baylor have all made scholarship offers to him of late. He’ll be a top-100 talent soon by my estimation, and one of the best pass-rushers in the 2020 cycle.

Latrell McCutchin, CB: McCutchin is a 2021 cornerback whose second offer was Oklahoma State to go on top of a Tulsa offer. The 6-foot, 165-pound prospect from Austin, Texas, played at Manor HS as a freshman largely off the radar, but likely won’t be for long.

Joe Michalski, OL: The last of the notable offers is to yet another 2019 offensive line prospect in St. Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, Kansas) prospect Joe Michalski. OSU is his first Big 12 offer to supplement a long list of other, slightly less appealing suitors like Cornell, Dartmouth, North Dakota, Wyoming and Texas State.

Visits

Oklahoma State hosted two offensive linemen for visits this past week — the first being offensive tackle Preston Wilson out of Argyle, Texas on an unofficial basis. Wilson has 30 (!) scholarship offers from the likes of Arizona State, Baylor, Northwestern, etc. He’s a 6-4, 274-pound mauler who is high on OSU’s board.

The second notable OL visitor this past week was 2019 offensive guard Jake Wiley, who made the trek from Colorado to visit on an official basis. Wiley is a 6-5, 250-pound guard, and the second target for OSU from Eaglecrest in Aurora, Colorado, in the 2019 cycle to go along with his teammate Barrett Miller.

The last of the notable visitors recently was Houston’s North Shore standout Ajani Carter, a 2019 receiver. Carter impressed the OSU coaching staff and while he has yet to garner an offer, one may soon be on the way for the 6-2 burner who has but two offers: Indiana and UTEP.
