Oklahoma State added its 15th commitment of the 2021 recruiting class on Thursday as three-star offensive line prospect Silas Barr made his pledge to the Cowboys official. Barr, a 6-foot-5 tackle from Pottsboro, Texas, is a flip in favor of OSU, having been committed to North Texas since July.

Barr picked OSU over listed offers from UNLV, North Texas, Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State, Illinois State, New Mexico and Penn. He is the second offensive line addition of the class to date joining Jenks tackle Logan Nobles, who committed to OSU in June. Both are roughly 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds. (Barr reports on Twitter he is 260 pounds and 6-foot-5.)

OSU is still relatively young along the offensive line as coach Charlie Dickey rebuilds the unit from the ground up, but the addition of Barr ensures outgoing experience will be properly addressed. Starters Ry Schneider, Josh Sills and Teven Jenkins are redshirt senior starters who could be on the NFL radar in a few months, so keeping the cycle of incoming talent is crucial.

While Barr, barely rated by 247Sports as a top-2,000 national prospect, doesn’t have a lengthy offer sheet or incredible credentials, he does have great film. For Pottsboro he is a defensive end and offensive tackle who plays with incredible toughness, often overpowering his man but more importantly, showcasing some serious mobility that should translate to the college level. He has the physical frame of an offensive tackle but moves more like a tight end. (Chalk that up under things you love to see.) This appears to be a great under-the-radar find for Gundy and his staff.
