Week 2 of the NFL will conclude on Monday night, but with no former Pokes in action we can go ahead and look at the highlights from Sunday.

Carson Finds the End Zone Again

Chris Carson continued to share handoffs with Carlos Hyde but still led the Seahawks with 17 carries and 72 yards. But, like last week, his highlight came in the passing game.

After grabbing two receiving TDs in Seattle’s season opener, Carson had another in this team’s win 35-30 win over New England.

It’s still early, but Carson’s three receiving TDs is T-2nd in the league, and he’s a running back. Only Atlanta’s Calvin Ridley (four) has more.

Washington Fighting for Targets

With Big Ben back behind center, all of Pittsburgh’s receivers stand to benefit. No umbrage to Mason Rudolph, but with he and Devlin Hodges taking snaps, Pittsburgh finished No. 31 (out of 32 teams) in passing offense and passer rating.

But there is still a stiff competition for targets. On Sunday, during the Steelers’ 26-21 win over Denver, Washington came in behind Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster in targets, hauling in three of his five for 22 yards. And rookie wideout Chase Claypool caught all three for 88 yards and a score.

Other Notes

• Emmanuel Ogbah grabbed one tackle and .5 sack of Josh Allen while the Dolphins fell to Buffalo.

• Justice Hill was inactive for the second week in a row due to a thigh injury, though he did practice last Friday. His status for the Ravens’ MNF matchup with the Chiefs on Sept. 28 is unclear, but the long turnaround should bode well for him.

• Over the first two games of the season, Tre Flowers has been relegated to bench duty behind Quinton Dunbar. He recorded one tackle in Seattle’s win over New England. Coming into 2020 Flowers had started all 30 of his career games.

• Dan Bailey made a 21-yard field goal on the opening drive of the Vikings’ 28-11 loss to the Colts, his only attempt on the day. He is 2-for-2 on the season.
