The Cowgirls swept the No. 16 Baylor Bears on Sunday in an thrilling, drama-filled game. The most electric play of the afternoon came from center fielder Maddi Holcomb in the top of the third with two outs.

Take a look:

No. 1⃣ in the field, No. 1⃣ in our hearts and now No. 2⃣ in tonight's #SCTop10!

Immediately prior to this web gem both coaches got into a heated discussion with the umpires over a controversial call at second base. After the long altercation everyone finally returned to their positions, and only two pitches later the Baylor batter sends a shot to center field that had everyone holding their breath.

I was sitting behind the outfield fence in right-center field, so I had arguably the best view in the park for the catch. I thought it was clearly going over, but “Maddi-1” (that’s what teammates call her) leaped up and made one of the greatest plays of her life. Robbing Baylor of the home run and all of the game’s momentum.

Longtime SportsCenter anchor John Buccigross also congratulated Holcomb on the outstanding play and her place in history.

The sweep of Baylor gives the Cowgirls an RPI raking of 25 and sole possession of third place in the Big 12. They have a revenge game against Wichita State on Wednesday at 6 p.m., then a chance to take ownership of second place in the Big 12 with a series in Austin this weekend.
