Dez the Legend

While the Dallas Cowboys cut OSU great Dez Bryant, his professional replacement (Allen Hurns) refuses to pick up the jersey number (and with it, expectations) that Bryant leaves behind. Instead, Hurns advocated for retiring it.

That wouldn’t be the worst idea considering the history of the Cowboys’ No. 88 jersey. There’s Bryant, who finished his Cowboys career with the third-most catches (531), fifth-most receiving yards (7,459), and the most touchdown catches (73) in franchise history.

There’s Michael Irvin, who ranks second in catches (750), second in receiving yards (11,904), and fourth in touchdown catches (65). And before him was Drew Pearson, who finished his career with the fourth-most catches (489), the fourth-most receiving yards (7,822), and the seventh-most touchdowns (48) in franchise history. [CBS Sports]

It’s incredibly impressive to do what James Washington does – speak softly (if at all) and put up the best numbers. It may be even harder to call your shot at excellence (picking up the heralded Dallas No. 88) and delivering more touchdown catches than any Cowboy ever.

On the Right Path

With a win on Sunday and four conference series to go, Cowboy Baseball has passed an impressive number.

The Cowboys’ victory brings their overall record to 20-13-1 and 9-3 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers dropped below .500 to 16-17 and 2-7 in conference play.

OSU has surpassed its conference win total from last season with nine, though the Cowboys eventually won last year’s conference tournament title. [O’Colly]

An injury-riddled season still resulted in a Big 12 tournament championship was impressive and this one appears to have an even better trajectory. It’s nice to be tied for the lead in league play.

I won’t listen to arguments that the Pawnee Pistol wouldn’t have been a better backup point guard than Semaj Christon last year.

Not a lot of meat in this interview but forcing turnovers appear to still be emphasized per some comments towards the end.

We're officially two-thirds of the way through spring practice. Here are some thoughts from @CoachGundy heading into week four. #okstate #GoPokes pic.twitter.com/xi6Rlu7JJQ

Convinced these little guys have no heart to keep beating the girl to the pucks.

She wanted a puck so badly, that her reaction just might melt your heart
