The boosters should have absolutely no say in what is done and not done in this case. The Board of Regents is required to give more than a cursory report, why aren't the news channels filing FOIAs? I forgot, most of them are goon graduates.
Shouldn't, but you and I know that money talks especially when you're 1 billion in debt. No doubt Boren has reached out to them to pressure the BOR, which could be a reason Gallogly is out.

OU doesn't need more "diversity"...they certainly have lots of that. They do not need to establish a "culture" That is not what universities do..they need to establish top quality teaching and foster learning.
That's the goal of every university, so a given. Today, everywhere, you cant establish a culture unless it is liberal thinking, so set that aside. Diversity? when everyone has to get a participation trophy? and the racism card is played every second? that's a tough one. Student wise, if you don't go with the flow, you have to stand up for yourself. as to top quality teaching, that is what OU does....the best of the best. As to Boren, let's see what the investigation reveals.

Boren's actions the last four years at the school were at best questionable and at worst full of violations.

Much of what happens at OU (and other universities ) has nothing to do with education or learning. OU has had bad leadership under Boren and only now are we learning just how bad it was.

On what basis? OU is the only university in US history to rank No 1 among all public and private colleges in the number of freshman National Merit Scholars. Where does OSU rank?

They offer full cost of attendance scholarships plus a $6k per semester stipend to national merit scholars... which is really just folks that did well on the PSAT in their sophomore year of high school. That's not really that big of a deal, and when you throw that kind of incentive at them it becomes a no brainer for those kids to choose OU over other public schools.

UT offers a 25% scholarship for those students. OSU offers a 75% scholarship and living stipend.

Getting national merit scholars seems to really only be a big priority for OU.
