Edit: I get all stoked, seeing Pokes/Texas on the LHN and see the above post...thinking we’d won Friday/Saturday and today was the chance to sweep in softball...nope, we won the series already and I was watching a replay.

So my following posts have been edited to reflect I was getting excited about a replay that was 4hrs old.

Thanks for starting a new thread on the team --- I had been posting team updates to a month-old game thread :)

Here's the latest...

The Oklahoma State softball team earned its fifth Big 12 series win of the year on Sunday, as the Cowgirls bested Texas, 4-1, in Austin, Texas.

Vanessa Shippy was the spark at the top of the Cowgirl lineup once again, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs batted in.

NORMAN — The biggest drama Wednesday night at Marita Hynes Field involved the weather.

...

For the Cowgirls, their lone baserunner came when Vanessa Shippy walked to lead off the game.

...

By the time the game ended, fans were quickly escorted away from the stadium. OU and OSU cancelled their postgame news conferences.

Oklahoma State's Vanessa Shippy is among the top 10 finalists for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

Shippy also was named the Big 12 Player of the Year on Wednesday, marking the second time to receive that honor. She joins Oklahoma's Amber Flores (2009, 2010) and Shelby Pendley

...

Shippy leads the league in on-base percentage (.613), runs scored (65) and walks (54). She's batting .460 and owns no fewer than eight school records.

...

OSU's Samantha Clakley, Taylor Lynch and Madi Sue Montgomery joined Shippy on the All-Big 12 roster, with all three earning second-team honors.
