From Mark Cooper...

Oklahoma State nation is fixated on the recruitment of Dax Hill, the five-star safety from Tulsa set to star at Booker T. Washington this fall.

But it’s two alumni from his high school -- including his brother -- who headline Oklahoma State’s roster in 2018.

Running back Justice Hill and defensive end Jordan Brailford, both former Hornets, were two of the three Cowboys named to the preseason All-Big 12 team, as voted on by the media covering the league. Left guard Marcus Keyes was the third.

The three selections are tied for third-most in the conference behind Oklahoma (7) and West Virginia (4).

More from Mark Cooper...

The last time Oklahoma State was picked to finish as low as fifth in the Big 12, it entered August without a designated starting quarterback.

Well ... the Cowboys haven't named a starter for this fall, either.

And like in 2014, Oklahoma State was picked to be a middle-of-the-pack team in 2018.

...

Oklahoma State was picked fourth, third and second in the past three seasons, respectively, gaining a little more recognition with each season Mason Rudolph quarterbacked the team.

But OSU enters camp next month with a competition at quarterback between senior Taylor Cornelius, freshman Spencer Sanders and graduate transfer Dru Brown.
