Had to "settle" for a 5800x. Bought it off newegg as a combo unfortunately and they won't let you return the combo item without returning the cpu. Other than that my build after 4 months is complete. It completely obliterates every game I throw at it at 1440p.

Yea I was sick of trying to beat the bots. It is stupid that there isn't a waiting list from amd. Would have gladly got on it.

the world wide shortage of gpus is unreal. even RX 580s are going new from amazon/newegg for close to 300. before all this, they were 120 bucks. crazy.

I feel bad for anyone wanting/needing to upgrade right now. I thought it was bad in 2018, at least then it was only video cards being scalped. Now you can't get CPU's either. It's funny how when the 30 series was announced I was kicking myself for paying over $500 for a 2070 Super in 2019. Now they're going for over $1000. Not gonna lie, I've thought about throwing my old 970 back into my machine and limping along on that if I can make a grand selling my 2070. But then I'd just be making the situation even worse.
