Separating history and legend when it comes to Frank Eaton is not an easy task.
Possibly no one knows that better than Lance Millis, who served as the 43rd iteration of Pistol Pete — the Oklahoma State mascot based on Eaton that’s in its 60th academic year — from 1987-88.
Millis, who works in student academic services for OSU’s College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, put together a case to get Eaton inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame, and in the process, he became somewhat of an “amateur historian” on Eaton.
