Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team opened play at the NCAA Columbus Regional on Monday with a 3-under-par team score of 281 to stand alone atop the leaderboard at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.

The top-ranked Cowboys were one of just two teams to break par during the first day of play at the par-71 course. UNLV is a shot back at 282, while Illinois finished the day at even-par 284. Rounding out the top five were Northwestern at 292 and Penn State at 293.

Michael Feagles of Illinois carded a 3-under 68 to lead the individual race by one shot over UNLV’s Garrick Higgo.

Three Cowboys finished under par on Monday with Austin Eckroat, Kristoffer Ventura and Matthew Wolff all posting 1-under 70s to stand in a tie for third place.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Oklahoma State men’s golf team extended its lead at the NCAA Columbus Regional on Tuesday, posting a 6-under 278 to stand three shots clear of the field at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course.

Through 36 holes, the top-ranked Cowboys stand at 9-under 559 and have four of their five starters inside the top 10 at the par-71, 7,364-yard layout. Illinois is in second at 562, followed by UNLV (575), Northwestern (583) and Texas Tech (585).

Play was halted because of inclement weather with four teams still on the course. The second round was scheduled to resume at 6 a.m. today, with the final round to continue as originally scheduled.

35 stoke lead on 6th place team which is the most important thing but it would be nice to win.
We are currently tied with Illinois at -7 with 9 holes to play

Looks like Baylor will make it out of the College Station Regional.
Oklahoma will make it out of the Norman Regional.
No Big 12 teams in the Kissimmee Regional.
Texas wins the Raleigh Regional.
OSU and Texas Tech will advance from the Columbus Regional.
ISU, KU, and TCU are in the Pacific Regional. Barring a total collapse by KU and ISU (currently 1st and 2nd), only TCU (currently 7th, 4 back of 5th) is on the verge of being eliminated halfway thru the final round.

The courses at a few of these regionals must be pretty easy judging by the scores. What a bunch of hacks at Iona College. They finish at +52, while Texas wins the regional at -39.

So WVU is the only one not in a regional right?
