Yep. You cannot tell a student what they can make with the degree they seek. It would be "undo influence". If a pre-pharm student, who is going to make $100k on graduation, decides to change to paleo-feminist studies where they will make minimum wage on graduation, as their pre-pharm adviser I cannot point out to them the difference. Our Financial Services cannot point out to them that they won't be able to service their student loan debt. The only thing Financial Services can really do is tell them how much they can borrow.
That's bunk. As an advisor, it's one of your jobs to advise. There should be nothing wrong with giving them relevant information as long as they make the decision.
