The Cowboys will play host to the Razorbacks in 2024 and will travel to Fayetteville in 2027

Oklahoma State announced a home-and-home football series with the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday afternoon. The initial announcement came from cryptic tweets from the official football accounts from both schools. Here’s the sequence.

As the Razorback Football account mentioned, it’s been since 1980 since the two teams played. Lou Holtz and Jimmy Johnson were the coaches for that 1980 matchup. Arkansas won that contest 33-20 and they lead the all time series 30-15-1.

Not long after the back-and-forth wrapped, OSU officially announced the series.

Oklahoma State will host Arkansas in Stillwater in 2024. The Cowboys will then head over to Fayetteville to wrap up the series in 2027.

While the Razorbacks may not be super impressive this year, with losses to North Texas and Colorado State, there is reason to believe the Hogs are building something under first-year head coach Chad Morris. They currently have the 16th-ranked 2019 recruiting class and are set to get an official visit from former Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant. If the Cowboys are lucky, this could be quite the match-up when it begins in six years.
