The Cowgirls went on the road to face TCU this afternoon.

Final
TCU: 49
OSU: 37

The Cowgirls fall to 14-12 and 5-9.

Jim Littell’s Big 12 record is now 75-83 in his ninth season.

Guard play has been disappointing in the Littell era.

The last star guard to complete a four year career in Stillwater was Brittney Martin. She was recruited by Budke and Serna and she completed her eligibility in 2016.

The guard play on this current team is underwhelming.

But there’s GOOD NEWS! We currently have NO GUARDS signed in the 2020 class. :p

So now we have to pray this staff, with a bad record of recruiting guards, can find someone who can contribute immediately.

The Cowgirls have four games remaining:

Texas Tech
At Kansas
Kansas State
At Texas

They need to win all four to finish even in the conference at 9-9.
That would put them at just 18-12 overall.

We need guards that can shoot. We have the no outside shooting so they just gang up on Mack and Gray. The guards we have can play defense and handle the ball but they cannot shoot from the outside. Until that is fixed it will not get better. The team plays good defense but cannot score because outside shooting is a problem.

Littell MUST bring in guards who can make an immediate impact next season.

He’s only done that once before when he added grad transfer Loryn Goodwin.

The current collection of guards is not the answer. We can’t afford to wait until next season and hope they develop an offensive game.

He’s got one final shot to find a good guard to help out Gray and Mack before their eligibility is gone.
