It sounds like the administration wanted good news to get out and had to push the CDC to allow it. I didn’t see anything about pushing dishonest information.
There is enough information with the coronavirus to make some statements. These five statements are true, but admitting the fourth and fifth is not allowed by the MSM and the fear-mongering crowd.
1) It is very contagious (everyone agrees)
2) It can be very serious for the older population (everyone agrees)
3) It can be very serious to any age group with specific conditions (everyone agrees)
4) It is not serious for young people. Hospitalizations are incredibly rare. (media does not agree)
5) It is very possible to have in person school and athletics. (some still argue this)

It's important to recall, when looking at Oklahoma case numbers, that they were bound to go up when we started counting probable cases as of day after Labor day...the fact that we didn't go back and adjust up past statistics for probable cases on historic numbers creates incorrect reads on spread and outbreak. We are currently improperly labeled as orange or red by the CDC because of this statistical and scientific data error.

thanks for the clarification. Was curious what percentage was canceled or postponed. Does it have anything to do with regional play starting and teams maybe wanting an extra week to heal up or not catch it? Are we at "orange level 2" due to increases due to probable cases and not reality?

Not really sure here. The OSSAA has basically given schools free range to play as they see fit and only set guidelines of how to handle district standings between teams if some district games are canceled and can not be played due to COVID
